2015 Honda Fit Excessive Oil Use?

I have a 2015 FIT (88K miles) that appears to go through 1-2 quarts between scheduled oil changes. Seems excessive compared to the Toyotas I have driven over the last 35+ years. Is this normal for this engine type. Trusted mechanic noted this generation of fit engines uses fair amount of oil. No blue smoke, under car puddle or other leaks found upon inspection.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Maybe instead of a trusted mechanic find a better mechanic. From a Google search:
"Honda Oil Dilution Lawsuit Includes Accord, Civic and CR-V Honda oil dilution problems have caused a lawsuit that alleges the Earth Dreams 1.5L direct injection engines are defective in 2019-2021 Honda CR-V, 2019-2021 Honda Civic and 2018-2021 Honda Accord vehicles.Jun 3, 2023."
.
Note that no Honda Fit is listed and that's because a Honda Fit rarely has oil dilution problems unless the car has been poorly maintained or abused. Numerous articles on this including:

Honda fuel dilution

From what I remember the problems stem from putting turbos on these cars combined with a poor choice in rings. Fit has never had a turbo.

Approximately 50% of your oil capacity is going AWOL and that's neither normal nor good. I would get a second opinion from a different mechanic.

What is "scheduled oil changes?"
Miles? Months?

Zero oil consumption between oil changes. But this Fit only has 50K miles on it. Cheap synthetic oil.

My 2016 started to burn oil around 100k miles. This car should never have extended oil changes being done between 7500 to 10000 miles. Actually no cars should do that. I will be doing piston top soak this summer using B12 chemtool right before the next oil change to attempt to fix this issue.

Just about every professional mechanic on YouTube is now recommending 5K oil changes for modern cars. Manufacturers are still sticking to the 10K range for obvious reasons. You could also look at trying Valvoline Restore and Protect on your next oil change and see if that helps. It's getting some pretty great reviews.

I started using valvoline protect and restore myself with the last oil change, no change so far. Still burning, but slowly. Also changed out the PCV valve that's been in there for 120k miles last week. My option is to free up the low tension rings with B12 chemtool next.

Since new my 2017 LX. It has 155K miles. I change/oil filter when the oil indicator reaches 20%-15%. I am so confident that oil consumption is so low that I never inspect the oil level between changes.

I gave up at year 10 when it became apparent I was never going to need to add oil.

Probably cylinder wash (blow by as a result) or stuck rings. If you used good oil I'm going with the prior.

Unfortunately as a tech these motors are not built with high quality parts so don't be surprised when they fight back after using cheap filters and Walmart oil.

Find another, competent tech (don't ask me why) to do a compression and leak down test. Check rear main seal as I've seen a surprising amount of Earthdreams ™ motors with RMS leaks. Take care

Oil burning stopped for me on the 2016 Fit, after switching to Valvoline Restore & Protect and changing out the PCV valve. I am now on the second treatment of Valvoline R&R, now changing oil at 50% oil life and no longer following the stock maintenance minder.

I used to burn a quart about every 5000 miles.

Mine's a '13. I sometimes drive the snot out of my car (compared to some of the members here) . I change my oil (AMSOIL) and filter (OEM parts) every 3,000 mi. At that interval, I might see a little drop on my dipstick. Never as much as 0.25 quart.

I've tried. I've really tried. But I haven't been able to blow up a Honda engine yet. They may not be "built with high quality parts." I'm not a tech. How would I know? I'm just a cuckoo fiend for the road.

Agreed. I do not understand a man who does not want to spend money on his car. Where is the love, guys?
