I have an older house where the garage has two poles in the center to hold up the room over the garage. (Yes I despise them, but no way to get rid of them). For 20 years I did not hit them with any portion of my cars.
Until last week when I backed out and my 2016 Honda Fit hit the second pole. Thankfully it pushed back and avoided most of the damage.
But the black frame (bezel) that goes around the mirror and I guess snaps onto the bulk of the mirror frame is busted.
Can I get that part by itself? Is it called the mirror sub-assembly, or something else?
Well, in my case, the back portion or bucket as I think you are referring to, is Red. The frame, lip, bezel is black and it definitely appears to snap-on to the bucket as you call it. In other words, it appears in this car to be a separate piece.
If you click the link under the above pic, it will take you to a parts breakdown.
The red part is a fascia panel called "Cap, R. Skull *R81* (MILANO RED)". Part number 76201-T5R-A01ZB. They literally call it a skull cap. I think my bucket label is perfectly reasonable. The "skull cap" fascia panel attaches to the inner black plastic bucket, as do most of the rest of the mirror components. The repair will mean completely disassembling the mirror and transferring all the components over to the new bucket. The Housing Set comes with more than just the bucket - If you have something other than a 2016 EX (LX, EX leather, EX Nav), select the proper vehicle and find that parts page again in the "Interior / Bumper" category.
So the bucket comes with both the red portion and the black portion I have referred to as the frame. They are one piece?
No, and no.
Look at the diagram. Find the 7 / 13 numbers. The numbers on the diagram are called designators. When there's two designators, it means there are different part numbers (as in Honda inventory part numbers) for the right and left sides of the car. Note the little line going away from 7 / 13 to a boxed-in region. Everything inside that boxed-in region is included in the part numbers associated with 7 or 13. The "frame" (ugh, boring) is only sold as part of that set - it doesn't have its own designator or part number.
Your red cap is marked by the 4 / 10 designators. On the parts list, there's a bunch of entries for the 4 designator, all right side skull caps, but with different paint codes and colors. Milano Red is the only red color on that list, so that must be yours. But you know what? That's irrelevant, because your skull cap appears to be undamaged. Just like the rest of the mirror parts, your existing one will get transferred over to the new "frame" (ugh).

I would recover the damaged part and use crazy glue them back in place. After a while you will accept and get used to the fact you did not spent a whole lot of money getting it fixed.
That is sort of true already. I guess I'll price it and see how much I am tempted to forget about it. Not sure crazy glue would hold plastic on it very well. The piece I have isn't going to glue well to the unit.
