100,000 Mile Service

My 2015 EX-L FIT just hit 100K miles!

I have meticulously maintained it since new with all the recommended service plus:

It had the VTC Actuator and Chain Guide in the engine replaced at 74,000 miles under the HondaCare Warranty by the dealer and unfortunately even with a Transmission fluid change at 40K and 70K the CVT Auto Transmission completely failed at 92,000 miles. It was inspected and diagnosed by the 2nd Extended Warranty Company as a non repairable internal failure with metal shavings in the fluid and with that they paid the Honda Dealer $6200.00 for a new transmission. A few months prior to that the Starter failed and they paid the dealer to replace that.

I did a Radiator Flush at 50,000 miles and the Serpentine Belt was replaced at 74,000 miles while they were working on the engine.

1. What service should I do now at 100,000 miles?

2. What service did you do yourself? or paid a mechanic do when your FIT hit 100K?

Thanks!

Valve adjustment,
New plugs and coils if that hasn't previously been done.
And oh yeah, change the blinker fluid. .

My 2010 Fit has a complete maintenance schedule, broken down by either mileage or time, in the owner's manual. I don't drive it a ton (5000-ish miles/year, all highway trips) so I use a time-based schedule - e.g., annual oil and filter change, brake fluid and coolant every three years, etc.

I assume that the 2015 manual still has a maintenance schedule. If so, I would start there. But, as woof suggested, I wouldn't even start the car again without a full flush and bleed of the blinker fluid.

I do all maintenance myself. It just depends on what you're comfortable with. My dad was a (heavy equipment) mechanic so I was helping him take things apart and (sometimes) put them back together from a young age. In 2025 you can find online service manuals, tutorials, and Youtube videos for pretty much any repair or modification you can imagine for your car so if you want to learn to DIY it has never been easier.

Service manual type stuff is thin on the ground for the GKs. Apparently Honda has held back on the info. But, yeah, forums like this one or Youtube or the like can cover a lot of the ground a home mechanic would need to cover.
