Ugh: "June"
WOW! Can you imagine all sorts of dire news on the GK supply line. A definitely ripe issue for conspiracy theorists. For some reason, it doesn't seem to affect our dealers on the island. They have real inventory on the lot and some have done the demo drives.
Probable that mainland dealers want to unload '13 inventory first. We can continue to speculate, but only 2 more weeks and the "cat will be out of the bag"!!!

........have no idea why they landed here first. It still baffles me. But in the end, its a great surprise.
........as for allowing sales or pulling back from dealers, looks like both aren'nt happening here. Don't have the info.
No matter what, this anxiety for the wait will evaporate in the next few weeks. After that, threads and posts will be centered on the many that will come home from their first TEST DRIVE. That will be worth the wait!!!

........what I know for certain is if you are living in (Oahu) Honolulu you will be able to test drive the GK - 100% sure. Its been done by FF members. Don't know about the other islands. As for purchasing, TODAY, its easy enough to confirm. Pick up the phone and call one of the local dealers here.

Two more weeks? It'll be gone before you know it!!! By that time you'll be posting your impressions of your first test drive. That will be worth all the wait!!!

Just received reply from Windward Honda.
100% sure that Pacific and Windward both have them on site. They both granted test drives to two FF members (ColinS 4/18 and Shiba 5/17). My lovely wife went to Windward on Mother's Day and took a bunch of pics of an on-site inventoried, newly PDI'd EX-CVT GK which have been posted on the "More Unlikely GK pics".

Wow, there's seems to be a lot of hype over the Fit release. Reminds me of when the FRS/BRZs came out.
Looks as if ROTTBOY has all the scoops. Here's what I know about Oahu. Windward Honda has a silver EX. Both Pacific Honda and Tony Honda each have a black EX. I was able to test drive the black one at Pacific Honda. I think my salesman might have got into some trouble by letting me test drive it because when we got done some older looking guy talked to him right when we got back.
My test drive experience was OK. I really liked the lane changing camera. I really had trouble in sport mode with the paddle shifters. Not used to shifting that way so I kept it in regular drive. Drive was smooth but keep in mind I am comparing this to a 2006 XB. My biggest concern is the proximity key and push start. I'm not sure if that will be a issue with theft.
What I have been told by salesman at all three dealers on Oahu is that they cannot sell the car yet. They were also told to pull the cars off the showroom floor. So if you want to see one on Oahu you have to ask a salesman. All the 3 of the new Fits are stored in the parking/servicing garages of each dealer. I was told buy a guy that they do have some at the docks but they are waiting for Honda to release them. Like I said this is exactly what happened when the BRZ/FRS 's came out. It created a small frenzy. But now you can easily walk into the local Subaru and Scion dealers and drive one off the lot.

What was the reasoning for the hold up with the BRZ/FRS when they held them up before release? It is this is some sort of new wave sales tactic to boost sales?
They are definitely 100% MDM!!!!!

If it's like the 9th gen Civic, Honda held back the sale date on the '12 then did an emergency makeover for the '13 model. Maybe they're doing that with the Fit. Well I hope not.. LOL

.... and it's too expensive to ship the cars all the way back to Mexico from Hawaii if they were made in Mexico.
Is that necessarily a bad thing for the FIT? maybe they're making it look nicer lol

I also have a 2006 Xb. I really love that car. I am curious to see if the Fit has comparable cargo space with the seats down?

I too think that . Maybe they're waiting on new switches to install before allowed to sell . Bit of a funny thing about loading it back onto the carrier
.
Rottboy , we're many hours away from any of those ports . Guess we'll have to sit back and and wait for this mystery to be unveiled

One of the bad things about living in Hawaii is logistics. We can't just visit a dealer in the next state if we can't find one in our area. We are stuck with what gets brought in. If what we want is not on the lot or at the dock then it's usually a 4 month wait to get what you want. Every salesman has said that there are a lot of guys asking about the new Fit. So I'm sure they are gonna get sold really quick. It's all down to supply and demand. In Hawaii Toyotas and Hondas outsell everything else.

Have now saved enough to afford a set of attractively priced alloys (not Works either).
Am now concentrating on building the funds for tires.AHhhh yes, the Land of the Free. Trouble is, in my case its, My Land of my Debt!!!!!
Just be glad you're not in Canada, where I've been told will be released in August lol
