Did a little snooping around the docks to see if I could find any in the receiving lot. Unfortunately, I couldn't find were they keep any Hondas.

 

I spoke to my guy at Honda Windward today. He said that the Hawaii cars were still in San Diego. He said that they have been told by Honda, that the "official" release date will be June 9. His expectation was that on or around June 9 that they would see their April allocation cars arrive in Hawaii. He could not predict how much longer after that, that the May allocation cars would arrive.

He told me that my car has been ordered, and would be produced in the June production allocation for this dealer. So he said the best case for delivery of my car would be mid July, but stressed that it could well be August, since they are really 2 months behind on the normal schedule of deliveries. It is important to understand that in Honda an "order" is not guaranteed until it is actually produced. So while I have an allocation spot in their June production cars, if the factory still is not making 6MT cars by then, my car may not actually get made when expected. This is particularly, an issue for those who are wanting cars in colors that have yet to be produced.

 

With all the speculation of the release date and the hype I'm thinking it's gonna be really tough to get one. It might be towards the end if the year until the dust settles to get a fair deal or even get one at all. But I am a really impatient person so that might be difficult for me. That's probably why I would have flunked out of Jedi school and became some poor moisture farmer.
