Performance data comparisons
Performance data comparisons
Has anyone seen any performance comparisons from the M/T vs CVT on the 2015? I would expect the M/T to excel but would be interesting to see how the CVT compares

In daily usage, the performance is probably very similar to the previous generation. The changes aren't earth shattering. A handful of HP, slightly different gearing. Though hopefully DI lends a bit of extra torque in the lower rpm range for both.
Am hoping that we'll see some auto article come out in June giving tested specifics.
My prediction: 0-60mph 8.5 secs. M/T 10 secs. CVT

This is why I said "daily usage". They will rev the engine to 5K and drop the clutch to get 9.0 seconds to 60. Nobody does that day to day.
Yes, the CVT is the same transmission as in the civic, but keep in mind these transmissions are specifically programmed to match up with the engines they are mated to, so the programming of the transmission would be different from the civic.
There has been no instrumented testing published for the 2015 Fit yet. And very few have even driven a 6MT yet. But it is interesting to note that the 2014 Civic using the CVT is considerably faster than the 2013 with the same engine mated to the 5 speed auto. So I expect the 2015 CVT Fit to also be noticeably faster than the 2013 auto was. The 13 more HP and the shorter first gear of the 6MT might make it test a little bit faster than the 2013 5MT did, but in real world use, I expect they should feel similar.

7 for hybrid and 6 for petrol....or 7 for both?
You have an Accord CVT that you have said you like.
What is notably inferior about the civic Hybrid?
OK but just know this is going to be a rant. And my Accord is almost always in ECO mode. I hate everything about the Civic Hybrid. It is last generation tech with hybrid bolted on. When I am just slowly pulling into a parking space the engine shuts off and then has to immediatly turn back on. It shuts off not very often so it can't be much savings in fuel. The backup camera is so small and the gridlines are inaccurate. The stereo does not work well with the iPhone 5S. There is no AUTO mode for climate control. I've ridden in a Prius several times and it is so much better. I was sick of my 2009 Pilot but I'm ready to ask the dealer for it back until the Fit arrives.
hybrid has 7 speed DCT
non hybrid manual is 6 speed
non hybrid auto is CVT which is really one gear but can simulate a 7 speed gear box with the paddles.
