There are presently 12 manual tranmission 2015 Fits listed nationally on cars.com. The production of manuals began about two weeks ago and the first manuals will probably start showing up at dealers in early July. But so far only 1% of the cars listed are manuals. My dealer will not order any manuals for stock and only for special order by a customer with a deposit, like me.

Ahhhh! So have you seen any with a vin that tops 10,000 yet? I saw a high 99 something but don't remember exactly what it was.

Also, I have noticed the numbers go up and down on cars.com, do some dealers pull them off if they get deposits?

Yep, just today Howdy Honda in Austin listed a car 10,098
2015 Honda Fit EX-L - Cars.com

I have seen this and wondered the same thing. For example the dealer here in Maui showed 12 2015 Fits a few days ago, and then pulled them all from their online inventory. In this case, I know they were not sold, they just do not want to show these 2015s when they still have 12 2013s to sell.

But the dealer I have my order with, told me that my car will show up once it is assigned a VIN, (which is why I check everyday!) and that he could remove it from showing after that, but that the manager of that dealership prefers to show the cars in the inventory even if they are pre-sold.

Right now, only 250 dealers of the 801 Honda dealers who list their inventories on cars.com are showing 2015 fits in their inventories. So obviously some dealers are purposely not listing their 2015s yet, perhaps because they want to know exactly when they will actually show up. I am expecting that very soon, we will see allot of cars show up on cars.com in a single day.

The one I have on order still shows up on the listing. Mine is 001832

WOW, Howdy Honda still has 23 13's on the lot!

Howdy Honda is in Austin, the center of Hipstser-Land. I don't think they are going to have a problem selling those.

They are also one of the deceiving types of dealership ><; they keep emailing me saying they have 2015's and I can come to lot and "try them out". How annoying.

Phantom 2013 Fits at dealerships

The accuracy of the CARS website definitely depends on the dealership. The Oakland Honda dealership still shows 32 new 2013 Fits on CARS today. They showed a couple of days ago, when I called the dealership and was told that they only had one 2013 left. None were showing on the dealer's own website at the time.

Those phantom cars at one dealer are being included in the overall CARS numbers. How many other dealers may also have phantoms on the CARS site?

Good to know that 6MT cars are starting to show, as well as additional colors.

I don't see a lot of incentive for dealers to pull cars off, since listings generate calls. At this point _every_ car listed is a "phantom" and others have stated that the VINs that they have put deposits on remain on the database.

Looking for the car I want, I find it very difficult to believe that Honda has produced precisely *two* white LX CVTs and allocated one to Hawaii and one to New York.

I am sure that the factory has produced more than 2 white LX CVTs so far but the listings on cars.com right now may only be considered a representative sample of current production since only 1076 of the over 10,000 cars produced so far are currently listed. However, be aware that production of LX cars only started in the past 4 weeks and white cars only started in the past couple weeks. So there may be fewer than 20 LX white CVT cars that have been made so far. While there may be as many as 2700 black EX CVT cars made so far, based on the sampling provided by cars.com.

I placed my order in March, but my dealer had already placed his allocation order for April before then, I am not sure why my order was not part of his May allocation, but that may be because 6MT cars had not started production by the time he had to place his May order. But my car is part of his June allocation.

For someone seeking a specific, and less common color/trim/transmission combination (see my post 46 different Fit combinations). They may find it will be many many months to find exactly what they want sitting on a dealer's lot without placing an order with a dealer for what you want.

I expect that the cars we will see in the next two weeks will all be CVT EXs in black, silver, red or grey. And the LXs and other colors will be rare finds for the next couple months.

I disagree. Portland Ore (Portlandia) is the center of hipster-land and my Austin born coworker will agree.

As a long-time resident of Seattle, frequent visitor to Portland, and current resident of Austin...Seattle takes the cake. Austin edges out Portland.

As far as Fits go, I've seen about double here than I've seen in Seattle. They are all over the place down here.

Possibly Seattle or SF by sheer size, but per capita and by all national metrics (beards, bicycles, and beer) the title has to go to PDX. Besides, they made a freakin tv show about campy Hipster culture, which of course takes place in Portland.

Austin vs. Portland: Which City Is More Hipster?

I wouldn't say the Fit is a particularly hipster car - it would have to be a fixie bike!

They won't have a problem selling them because like theindiearmy says they are extraordinarily popular cars around here. There are at least four that I know of on my block. Probably because Austin's parking lots are laid out by sadists.

I've been in touch with one of the salespeople at Howdy and haven't gotten any spamming. He actually just emailed me to tell me they were delayed and he would let me know when they got some on the lot which made me come visit the forums (lurking for a while).
