Honda has made some very efficient FI engines in the last 30-40 years
I drive my 2015 to get good mileage. My son has a 2020, and he just drives, yet he gets better mileage than I do.
I average an indicated 33-35 mpg most days (combo of a lot of traffic and my lead right foot), but when tracked by refueling, I'm usually 1-2 MPG higher. My last refueling couple days ago got me ~35.3 mpg vs the ~33.6 indicated.
That's pretty close. How accurate is the reading on the gas pump? Maybe you got 8.199 gallons, and you calculated using 8.1.
I'll have to double check later, but my old 2013 Accord was always within .1MPG of what my pump calculations were, and I use many of the same gas stations now as I did when I had that car.
Quoting myself because a highway trip yielded 36 MPG (manual transmission). Not too surprising it's "bad" because it screams at highway speeds (why the CVT is a better choice for MPGs). I was going about 70 MPH. This car pretty close to 100% local use, so for me the overall mileage is astounding.
computer says i am getting about 32 mpg. i do almost exclusively city driving, with short 15-20 minute trips on the highway. spirited back road drives and then a food run when i have an hour or so to kill. it might be a little skewed because i havent reset since a recent drive from NJ to VA, but even then im still at least in the 30s no matter what.
2018 Fit Mileage
Just got my 2018 LX in early May with 36k miles … in a mix of Interstate (60-70mph) and local roads I am consistently getting 43 mpg+! Loving my 6 speed. Wish we could still get new ones.
Sounds good. My 2015 has averaged 43.4 for over 80,000 miles. I don't know how to update the Fuelly footnote below.
But you can!...... If you live in Japan, South America, Europe, Asia.......under various names like Fit/Jazz/City Hatchback
Almost everywhere except North America. Completely redesigned and I believe mostly a hybrid version now.

Then there's the whole issue of being RHD etc.
I always base my MPG on math, but the dash display gives me a good indication of how I'm doing.
Two tips: take your foot off the gas pedal more often - approaching a stop sign, red light, traffic jam, etc;. You'd be surprised how little braking you actually need. Hitting the brake pedal wastes gas. It's not unusual for me to drive 30 miles or more and average a displayed 50+ MPG.
My MPG seems to have creeped up over the past year. Been averaging 35-36. I even got 38.3 MPG at my last refueling. And my driving is the same, I am not a hypermiler at all. Quite the opposite, I'm a leadfoot who cruises at 80+ routinely. Not sure what's causing the boost, but I'm not complaining.

By the way, that Fuelly thing below is very old, and I don't know how to update it to add the 2020.
