OEM vs. aftermarket

Having put down my deposit on a 2015 Fit (they are doing a dealer swap search to get me either an Aegean blue or modern steel EX), my mind has turned to accessories. This being the first time I've bought a new car that had a number of accessory options, I am feeling a little lost. The OEM prices seem pretty high, but I'm not sure how long I'd be waiting for aftermarket parts, or how well they fit.

Right now, I'm considering all-weather mats, cargo liner, and cargo cover (though I can't find one on the Honda website, others here have mentioned them). The only one I consider a necessity is the cargo cover, as I live in a city and park on the street.

On to the questions:
- Price difference between OEM and good quality aftermarket. Is it worth waiting?
- How long will it take for aftermarket accessories to show up?
- Will the aftermarket accessories ever include items that must fit exactly, e. g. a cargo cover and liner?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Would definitely wait for Weather Tech digi all season mats. Far more superior design and coverage than OEM. I've had mine a whole year and they still look brand new when cleaned. No dips, rips or scratches in the material. The stock OEM all weather mats, to me, looked too small and didn't have enough of a lip to provide the coverage I wanted. I looked seen both the Honda and Toyota (frs&prius) ones and they did not seem worth the money.

Google "College Hills Honda" accessories. They have the 2015 accessories significantly less expensive than local dealers. I have received some and should get the cargo cover next week.

Also HandA accessories has been a reliable and inexpensive source, but not showing 2015 accessories yet.

Doing this on my phone so I'm sure someone can provide the links if needed.

Good luck!

One of the GK Fit owners (JediPat) mentioned bernardiparts.com and they are slightly cheaper for most accessories compared to College Hill. Check them out.
