Fit, Fit's
Fit, Fit's
I guess the old adage about "One in every crowd" ends-up being on me this time. I have had the luxury of driving 4 GK's in the past week & the issue that's got me on the edge of purchase or not is , well....the fit of the Fit. Now this is just my opinion: The relationship of the drivers legs to the seat in the full extended position is in a word: "uncomfortable". I am 6'-3" tall with a 34" inseam on my jeans. From there, average build around 200 lbs. With the drivers seat in full reward extension, my knees are in an uncomfortable bend that would make long distance travel (which is the mainstay of my driving experience on a daily basis) tiring to say the least & once the 200 mile mark passed, downright unpleasant.
The irony, if there is one, is that the GK's rear passenger leg room is epic. Truly I have seen less in a full sized sedan. The problem as I see it is that this grand rear seat space came at the expense of the 90+ percentile user; namely the driver. I question the engineering foundation which led to this decision. To my way of thinking, it is illogical.
While I applaud the effort to accommodate rear-seat passengers' comfort in a platform such as the GK's, I also think that it was an oversight not to successfully address both issues.
I lost my current '12 GE to a total loss collision in March. Like the rest of you, I have been waiting for the launch of the '15 GK to replace it. Now that it is here & I have actually gotten fully accquainted with it, I believe that the new Fit is lacking something that I really need: A place for my legs! I may end-up with the EX-L with NAVI that I had on order but as of this writing, I got my down money back & am rethinking the whole process. For those of you going ahead, I will continue to watch the progress of the full launch & wish you all the best of luck.

6`2" here and I totally understand what you are saying. No idea why they did that.
The feeling I get is that I wish I could push the seat back another inch or so.
It would be the only reason I didnt get one as well. I'll do one more test drive this weekend to see if I can live with it.

The effort taken to do various test drives it the best thing, if the very 1st drive resulted in uncertainty. We are all different and a car that is satisfying to one won't necessarily fill the needs of another. There is no reason for you to personally force yourself into any item for purchase.
The feedback given will surely be of help to other individuals (e.g. to those with similar pant size). Thanks for contributing a credible and honest impression.
Here's hoping you end up with the right wheels. Happy shopping!!!
