2015 AC performance
2015 AC performance
Now that we are in the midst of summer with 90 - 95 degree days, I am again realizing the drawback of the AC in my beloved 2013 Fit.
For those of you who have driven the earlier models and are now proud owners of the 2015, did Honda make any improvements to the air conditioner? The condenser now has a grill cover - nice, but does it still blow that warm - cool - cold cycle of air that I have experienced in all the 2013s I have been in?
Thanks for any info.

I agree that the AC in the earlier models can be weak. It just kind of crapped out on a 3-hour drive today. I turned off the button and it wasn't noticeably different, and it was in the mid-70s outside today.
All that glass gives the Fit a hot interior, and the AC in my '12 Sport isn't up to snuff.

That is certainly not the norm in my experience owing two Fit's thus far. But I'd love to know how to turbo boost it to get that!
Dealership/Outside Sun/Florida Heat 95 degrees according to the gauge = Took a while for the interior to cool down on my test drive
Have had the Fit for 3 days now, and the air is OK, but not a cooling as my 2013 Civic. Temps have been in the 90's range.

Yeah it was 90+ in Miami this weekend.
I had to bump up the AC to 3 to get a somewhat comfortable cabin temp.
I did notice the air coming out of the vents was freezing! But the sun beaming through the windshield was making the air hitting my face a lot warmer.
This car is a green house. It needs tints!

Instant On
I have a 2015 EX-L and the air is almost instant on. Today after having it parked in the 85 degree sun for three hours it cooled quickly and is a much better performer than the air in our 2007 Honda CRV.
First is tint, the ceramic type that rejects heat. Tint will make a big difference when it is sunny outside.
Second, make sure that you have the air input set to recirculate. If you just leave it on feeding air from the outside, it will not cool the car enough once the outside temperature goes above 88 or so.
