Just saw this listed on Ebay.

It seems odd for a dealership to list a new vehicle on ebay, rather than autotrader or cars.com

 

They also have the front headrests facing different directions..

 

Its listed at a fixed price (not auction), so its basically advertisement for the dealership.

 

There have been several dealerships that "list" some of their new cars on Ebay. Indeed, they always seem to be a fixed price / best offer and when the listing vanishes it's because they sold the car outside Ebay. It won't show up in EBay's Sold listings, but may in the completed.... The dealers are using Ebay as one more advertising avenue and it gets their cars shown nationwide. If they never complete a sale thru Ebay, then all the dealer owes Ebay are listing/ad fees and no Final Value fee. I am uncertain but if the dealer subscribes to have an Ebay Store, at a fixed monthly fee that isn't much, they may not pay for the individual listings.


There were many new 2013 Fits listed on Ebay, by dealers around the country, in April and May. They all vanished from Ebay over time but did not appear in Sold searches.


Advertising is what will draw many customers to a specific dealership, be it across the country or in the county or city nearby.
