Awesome! There's a dealership just north of Columbus that has two right now, but I can't bring myself to drive 5 hours round trip for a test drive.

Most definitely happened! Purchased in Reading PA. Put a deposit on it a few weeks ago and got the call yesterday. First EX MT I have come across and the first white one as well. Didnt want to commit until I saw the new white in person but I really like it. The pearl effect is very subtle. Only noticeable in bright sunlight. As far as the fuel efficiency I will have to report back, but seeing as how I normally drive like a grandma I'm optimistic. May be able to post pics later this eve. if not I should be able to tomorrow.

Also if you can post thoughts on the RPM range/speeds on the freeway and how you feel the engine noise is at those speeds.

Thanks

I purchased a steel gray MT TX yesterday. Still under 100 miles on mine.

Ahh you beat me to it spaceballs. Seems like any 15's around here are arriving via the Baltimore area so that would make sense. 49 miles and counting...

This is my first fit so I cant really make a relative comparison to the older generations but I would say that engine sound when getting up to speed is def more noticeable than my Passat wagon. Seems to tach at about 3100 or 3200 at seventy and has a "droneish" quality on the highway. Not excessive, but will be noticeable to anyone coming from a more premium riding car. Pretty much in line with my expectations given reports from other drivers. Throws seem short to me coming from a manual passat and the gearbox is very pricise. Overall the car is very "driveable" in city conditions relative to other small manual transmission cars I have driven. Gearing is still a bit of a mystery to me tho. Sixth isn't nearlly long enough in my opinion. I am finding that the more I drive it the more comfortable I am becoming with how to best drive it if that makes any sense. Specifically in terms of how to optimize the balance between power and efficiency. Only has about fifty miles on it so I am still getting familiar. Overall Im very happy with it but my expectations are reasonable. Its not a luxury car

What's the skinny on being able to post pics? Forgive me if this is a rediculous question but I am new to the forum and for some reason I don't see an opportunity to attach files. Is there a minimum amount of posts required?

If you have the pics hosted elsewhere (like flickr or picasa) and can get the link to the file, you can just use the insert image button to add them to a post, or just put (without spaces) and it'll post the pic.

Just test drove the manual EX. This was my second test drive of the new fit. First time I was waaay to critical from reading the forum. This time I just hoped in and drove as if it was already mine. Compared to my Geo Metro the noise is non existant and the rpms are 1,000rpms lower. I could hear more wind noise than anything.

I put a deposit down for a yellow one.
