The 2015's Have Arrived On Oahu!

Honda Windward has them at their hold lot by Windward Mall. They had about 6 EX's in silver, black, and one Blue. The 3 LX's colors were Silver, red and Darker Gray. I searched the lot but no White Orchid Pearl's. The salesman I talked said most if not all of them are on hold or sold. FYI the are attaching a $2487 adjusted market value and a $530.25 appearance package price.

I did see one get sold today, so we should start seeing them on the roads soon.

Island Honda on Maui got 6 new Fits in yesterday. 2 LXs 3 EXs and 1 EX-L, all CVTs. I got to test drive a Black EX CVT and did not find the CVT to be as bad as I had expected. And certainly much better than the CVT that is on the CR-Z. I still think I would prefer the 6MT.

Lucky people! We Canucks have a long wait ahead of us. On the other hand, if there are any problems, we'll also get to see those. It's Honda though, so they should be quality from the get-go. Can't wait to see them, live and up close.

Also: "$2487 adjusted market value": What is this? Is it anything like "additional dealer profit"?

I can't believe it's been two months since we first drove that car. Any other thoughts on the feel of the steering and overall handling? We drove the car on a wet road and didn't really get to push it very hard.

I too had a basic "around the block" type of test drive. Coming out of my 2009 Fit, the ride was much better dampened, but still busy and a bit noisy over broken pavement. Similar to the ride of my CRZ. The steering, honestly felt similar enough to my 2009 Fit not to notice any significant difference. I spent most of the test drive concentrating on how the CVT performed. And like I reported, I could find little to complain about with the CVT, other than that feeling of waiting for a shift, that never comes, when accelerating to speed. Once at speed, it performed well when stepping on it for a simulated pass, it drops down its gearing quickly enough that it was not an issue. I would say that the car has enough Horsepower to drive the CVT without feeling like it lacks enough acceleration. But I still would prefer to change my own gear and control the car myself rather than hoping the CVT will do what I want.

After driving the CVT Fit I went over to the Mazda dealer and drove a 6MT Mazda 6 with the 2.5 liter engine. I liked that MUCH Better. But certainly not a fair comparison.
