I bought mine yesterday after a three-hour drive to from NH to NY. I had to spend three hours at the dealer - not the quickest transaction. I love the car so far (199 miles). The electronics are amazing. I was going to get the EX-L with navi, but I got a silver EX. I have a portable Garmin, which I prefer to built-ins, and I have a small XM radio. I'm transferring the XM subscription from my trade-in to the XM for the Fit. I saved almost $3,000, so I'm glad I thought it through.

My son has been waiting since April for a Fit. He wants a blue EX - not many around.

Good choice....I honestly see no point in navigation (It's just looks cool). Must of us have smart phones that are way better than navigation itself. Google Maps FTW!

Maybe no point for you but I travel in the Rockies on a regular basis where there is spotty/occasionally nonexistent cell signal, so entire phone becomes an iPod only. That is the purpose of having a GPS antenna on/in your car.

They were a kind of folding puzzle for kids while taking trips in the car. The mother would open he map, the father would say he didn't need a map, and then it would be given to he kids in the back seat. It was their job to try to fold it up.

I used to collect the maps, first by State, but then by dealer (Gulf/Sunoco/Standard/Texaco), after all, they were all free. I remember that when I was a kid, most maps showed the Interstate system as not being complete yet. We would be driving on an interstate, then suddenly switch to a State route for a certain distance, then back to the Interstate again (and I'm talking about the major east/west routes like Interstate 70, or 40.

I bet those "incomplete maps" would worth something today on Ebay!

When I was a kid, I rode my bike all over, and gas stations had free maps. I had a very good collection.

Enjoy your new FIT

I like the WAZE app for navigation.

This is the primary reason for having the NAV trim level. Does it cost anything in the form of a subscription fee to maintain Honda Navigation?

Sounds about right.

Although I can't remember ever touching a map, let alone using one.

I really wanted an EX-L for the navigation but I just don't want leather in my car. So atm, I'm certain that I'm going with an EX and a great GPS system.

Good choice. I had planned to get the EX-L, but it would have cost $2,770 more for basically XM and navigation. I have a lifetime XM subscription, and I have a good Garmin GPS. The ones in cars aren't Garmin, and they aren't as good.

The XM sits on top of the left vent, and the GPS is right over the center vents. Both are wired in permanently - sort of. I have a three-way 12v outlet on the floor, and they're plugged into that.
