terrible experince with Honda dealer sales.
I just want to share with you guys my buying experience with Honda the past month looking to buy the steel gray fit. I live in San Francisco so I had a few Honda dealership around me. I had a hard time finding a EXL in gray to buy so I had to just put a deposit down for it at Serramonte Honda. Well I got impatient so I called around other dealership to see if I can find one faster. Victory Honda told me that they have one and to come down and see it. When I got there with my wife and kids and cash deposit ready to sign my life away the sales person told me they just sold it a few hours ago. At this point I was mad because I had to drag my wife and kids out of the house for no reason. I felt like it was BS I called an hour before I left the house just to make sure they have it and was told it was there. Sales guy tried to sell me another car a CRV. Same thing happen to me when I called SF Honda sales rep said they have one at the show room and to come down to buy it. I told him about my earlier experience and ask if he could text me a photo of the car which he did. I made arrangement to have my mother inlaw watch my baby so my wife and I can just go and get the car. When I got there I met with the sales guy next to the gray EXL I wanted and I was excited. He took us to his office to fill the finance paperwork and after I finish filling the credit check out he left for 20mins and when he got back he had a look on his face telling me something is wrong. At this point you can tell my smile went to a red angry face. Sale person at SF Honda told me as he was entering the paperwork he notice the car was already sold!!. I was really pissed this time because I felt cheated how can you not know that the car was already sold. After getting the manager to come talked with me they tried to sell me a white one with $400 discount. I just ask for my paperwork back and walked out in my gray Lexus IS350 with a middle finger as I drove off. Serramonte Honda never called me after a month even though I knew they got shipment.

Friday Aug 8th Alan at San Leandro Honda one of the dealerships I called and emailed called me up and told me my car color and model came in. This time I wasn't so excited because of the last few experience. Well long story short I got my car BUT... when I got home the next day I had time to look at the car and there were scratched on all the door panel and pillars. Im not too worried about paint scratch since I can just buff it off. But there is a key mark scratch on the plastic gear display. I just uploaded the video of the damages. I didn't catch this while at the dealership and had called and told them the next day. I hope they will next this. Here is the video

Some scratches may occur in transit or at the dealership. I would not necessarily call this a "quality control" issue.
When my Fit finally arrives at the dealer, I'm going to make every effort to go over the car thoroughly and give it a test drive before I sign anything. Once you sign off and drive off the dealership lot it's going to be a lot more difficult to address cosmetic issues like scratches and scuffs.

Actually during car ride the dash makes this annoying clicking sound like one of the clips isn't snapped on. I tried to located it but have no luck. I will be bringing the car back to the dealership where I bought it. The bad part is that its 60miles away. The scratch on the gear shifter is very deep like someone used a sharp object to it.

Sorry to hear about your experience, Payluder. In regards to a car being sold within an hour of a call or in the showroom, it has happened to me at the dealership level as well.
I'm with a customer and we are working a deal on the only Honda Fit we have. We go for a test drive, he loves the car and come back inside to work on the paperwork. When I go to the management office to reserve the car I see that it's sold. Apparently, while we were in the test drive, someone in the internet department received a deposit for it online.
My advice to anyone, if you are sure you want a particular car, always give a deposit, even if it's on the phone. Deposits on cars that are in inventory are refundable.
Have them email you a Buyers Order or get the stock# and VIN# of the vehicle you are holding.
Hopefully this will help you in the future. In the meantime, congrats on the new Fit!!

Thanks HondaGeek for feed back. Actually I had made two deposits figures whichever comes first I will cancel the other one but now I think its a big mistake putting a deposit down and it don't guaranty a car. After dealing with all these bait and switch I google their reviews and found out I wasn't the only one. All three have 2 star out of 5. San Leandro Honda was the only one I will bring business to from now on they got 4.6 our of 5.

But the worst was a few weeks later when I actually received my first bill from the bank for a car I didn't even have. Can you believe that?
Google reviews, Dealer Rater and the such did not exist at the time, so I went in blind. If possible, try going to a dealer you have dealt with in the past or someone a friend or family has experience with. After that, check reviews online, knowing that no dealership, like everything in life, is perfect, but some are better than others.
I'm in the East Coast, but if you have any car questions in the future feel free to hit me up or check me out at hondageek.com (just launched). Going to offer free car advice for anyone, regardless of which brand they want.
