I don't think this has been posted here. If it has, please feel free to delete.

Great info. Thanks for posting this. Looks like a few of us will be getting new bumpers in the fall.

Good to know that it earned a Good from IIHS in all categories except for the Small Overlap Front. I've been patiently waiting for the IIHS report before making the decision, but this makes it easier. New Fits on the lot should also have the upgraded bumper, I hope.

Thank you for the link. This is even more informative than the CR report on the "read this..." thread about the same issue.

Yeah, the cutoff was June I believe, so you should be good. You'll want to check with Honda in late September when they have all the info just to be sure though.

You can't. Assuming that VINs are assigned sequentially and enough people provide build dates and VINs, you might be able to extrapolate the date. Or you could just look at the label on the door that tells you the build date (well month/year anyway). From that info if it's prior to 6/14 you need the work if it's 7/14 or later you don't and if it's 6/14, you might. Or you can guesstimate that if your VIN ends in a number under 12000 you need the work (they haven't provided the exact count though and we're assuming no VINs were skipped).

I called Honda Customer Care and was surprised they could not tell me the manufacture date. They could tell me the day the car was sold to Honda Motors, but that was it. They said all I can do is wait until September and see if I am notified by Honda that I need the upgrade or not.
