Mpg lx, ex, ex-l
Mpg lx, ex, ex-l
There's been a lot of talk about the different trims and fuel efficiency. Personally I think people are getting caught up in EPA standards which tend to ding certain upgrades so I figured the best way was to get some data.
Please follow this format:
What MPG Average are you seeing in Real World?
Trim? (LX, EX, EX-L)
Manual or CVT?
Approximate % of City Driving?
Econ Mode % on?
A/C % Usage?

33 mpg
Ex-L
80-90% city driving with AC on always.
No econ mode.
30 mile commute.
LA 405-10 -101 freeway is practically "city driving" considering the constant bumper to bumper in my commutes.
My worst I got was 22 mpg. Four accidents. Friday afternoon. Took 3 hours to get home from work. Literally bumper to bumper.

35 mpg
EX
Manual Trans
20-30% City
Note: I drove to the Florida Keys this weekend and averaged 42mpg for the 580 mile round trip. Probably 85% "highway" as in clipping at a constant 50mph, which the Fit really likes to do. The computer got up to 56mpg for a good 25 mile stretch! Even assuming it is off by 10% (which it isn't, it's usually off by about 5 or 6%) it was getting over 50mpg. I credit a tailwind that I must have had, but it is impressive none the less.
PS - the numbers quoted are what I calculated and what Fuelly says. The computer read about 5-6% higher on all measurements.

Lx
38.1 mpg
LX
CVT
90% city
AC on 50% of the time
Eco mode 100% of the time
**Also its only driven 8 miles at a time (8 miles to work, 8 miles back) so the engine never really gets warmed up to operating temperature.

Well still gotta take into account driving conditions. My commutes are mostly rolling hills and traffic. Other people could potentially be doing only city driving but with minimal traffic.
15' ex 6mt. 2 tanks in i am at a calculated 35.9 and 35.4 mpg. those tanks had a slew of variables, (idling, city, highway, 2 weeks at the dealer for a replacement transmission....) so if i can get over 35 on my commute (80mph and full of hills) i will be happy.
previous kia rio got a consistant 34/35 on the same commute, but it had a larger tank. i could get 350 miles out of it before needing fuel. i hope to get the same out of the fit with smaller tank.

What MPG Average are you seeing in Real World? First tank = 40.1 by onboard computer
Trim? (LX, EX, EX-L) EX
Manual or CVT? CVT in "D," not "S"
Approximate % of City Driving? <5% (rural, mostly 55mph flat to rolling hills)
Econ Mode % on? >90%
A/C % Usage? <10% (midwest, where it's been cool all summer)
