Intro-Tech Custom Auto Shade works well

This is just a simple product endorsement. the Intro-Tech Custom Auto Shade for the GK works well. In Texas it gets hotter than two rats effin' in a wool sock so a barrier is nice. Got this one on a whim and it fits really well.

Any other experience with them or some y'all like better?

I love the Eclipse Sunshade. It adds an inch to the pillar but I take this and convenience over having to spend time folding/unfolding the shade every time. I've had it in other cars and never really had a problem with visibility.

Eclipse - pillar - airbags?

Forgot if there are airbags in those pillars but if so would it interfere ?

I THINK the airbag is at the top of the pillar and deploys (read: EXPLODES!) toward the driver and down across the driver side window. I also don't think the airbag unit is very large. Given those two pieces of potentially inaccurate info, I don't think the eclipse would interfere. It only contacts the pillar at two points (those black oval things in the picture) and the rest is very flexible material. I don't know for sure though.

Is there an Eclipse shade for the GK? I wanted to get one also, just because it is so convenient and doesn't take up floor space.

In this video you can see how the airbags work.

the B pillars are curtain and cover the front windows, the A pillar is a very small airbag that is there in case your head goes between the curtain and the front airbag (this was an issue on 2nd gen fits) hitting the A pillar.

Here is another pic that explains the A pillar airbag as well.

This shade will just be moved by the airbag (pop the suction cups). However, you then may have a projectile...

They're not suction cups. One end is attached with that sticky glue thing (don't know name). The eclipse shade then clips to that attachment. Never thought of the a pillar airbags so don't know if they test for that. They currently don't have them for the GK. They sell for about $45US. I happen to have a local dealer that carries them but the manufacturer has a site with the correct model made for your vehicle so it could be ordered from anywhere.

Glue stick thing? Odd, I honestly didn;t check how it attached and figured suction cups.

Maybe the airbag would pop the shade off the glued on part?
