Cargo cover installation on 2015 Fit - need help

I bought an OEM 2015 Honda Fit Cargo Cover. However, I can not figure out exactly where to put the 2 clips. Can someone please take a picture and show with some arrows as to where it goes on the tailgate frame? I am including the instructions I found at Bernardi's Auto Parts. It's still too general for me.

http://www.bernardiparts.com/Images/...r_AII51309.PDF

Many thanks.

I don't have one of the covers. However, from the diagram, it looks like they go on the hatchback door inside the trim mold next to the glass. The (rope) on each side of the cover will attach to the clips so that the cover will lift up when you open the hatchback door.
Let me know how you like the cover....I would like to have one. My Honda dealer wants $187 for it (ouch!)

I have pictures. Hold please while I upload them.

Edit - on your hatch, note the notch/indent that is on each side. The clips go there. To help them go on, use WD40, a towel, and a broad blade (like a putty knife), to push the clip onto the notch. Hope this helps!

Just run your fingers along the inside edge of the hatchback glass, and on each side you will find an indentation. That is where the clips slide in. Keep in mind, it will take a little pressure, as they don't go on easily. We wrapped the screw driver tip with a small rag, to avoid scratching the paint, and pushed until the clip snapped in (or on). I would say it was pretty fast getting the cover installed. Don't overthink it.

UPDATE: In the time it took me to type the above, xStitchX posted his picture showing the indentation. A picture is worth a thousand words....

eCity Fit, I have the cover, and I find it necessary due to the fact that I will not be tinting my windows and needed the privacy. I think that it's well made and functions great. It's really easy to remove if needed, too. I think it should have been included as standard, but I guess you can't have it all

xStitchx - I know most Honda dealers will price match. Did you get yours from your dealer?

I bought mine from Bernardi's website. I actually live close enough to Bernardi's that I drove there to buy it (instant gratification, I thought), but the parts guys said it's cheaper to buy it from their website vs. at the parts counter. Plus, they didn't have it in stock anyway.

Bernardi's does price match, but watch out for the shipping cost. It could negate your savings. My shipping was reasonable, because I live so close.

To me, it looks like they did intend for it to come with the car, due to the inclusion of the side rails. Without the cover, it almost looks like you have removed something that should have been there. We did tint, but my daughter wanted the benefits of tint (heat reduction and elimination of damaging rays), but did not want dark tint, so she went with 55 on the back and sides, 18 on the sunroof and windshield strip. The cover gives her the privacy she needs for whatever it is college kids haul around.

Thanks so much! This picture really helped. I also used the tip for WD40 and the tip for a covered screw driver from Vanguard. I will see if I can post some pics. Thanks again!

Here's are some close ups of the clip placement for the cargo cover:

BTW, I did find that Bernardi's will do price matching for online prices. If you go to hondapartsnetwork.com, you will find a lower price for the cargo cover. I got mine from hondapartscheap for a little bit more, but I was able to save on shipping because I picked it up (in Milpitas, CA). So figure out how close the online vendor is for shipping costs and that may help in your vendor choice.

Do note that you will need to order the 2 center shelf strap hooks (84405-SF4-003) and the cargo cover (84400-T5A-C01ZA). Then after you install it, just recline the rear seats back and you will not see any visible gaps (something that someone noticed in a previous thread).

I think the cargo cover is worth it because I store stuff and don't anyone peering in. Thanks again!

Don't forget, Erik at Bernardi Parts has a 25% shipping discount for this forum:

The clips or hooks for the cargo cover are less than $3.12 list each

No. it's really 2 clips and they list for $3.12 each (you need two). You can get them anywhere from 2.18 to 2.21 each. The part number is 84405-SF4-003. When ordering the cargo cover, order 2 clips. Why they don't include them is beyond me.

"84405-SF4-003 - HOOK, CENTER SHELF STRAP" - Bernardi Parts

Thanks Vanguard. I think my camera phone distorted the real closeup, so you see the "specks" for the metallic Aegean Blue. LOL!

Oh, thank heavens. I had seen this:

SHELF ASSY., RR. (INSTALLATION REQUIRES QTY.2 -#84405-SF4-003 - HOOK, STRAP) 188.57
And then the cord, which I guess I was reading as "strap":
CORD 130.41 each, and you need two.

Sorry, I tried to get the URL for the actual page that has the blown-out diagram, but it's a frame in the Fit Accessories main page.
