Spring Loop Sunshades?

Has anyone found a spring loop sunshade that fits our cars? None of the "jumbo" shades out there are large enough.

I'm looking for a one piece design and am not interested in the mylar-wrapped bubble wrap style shades.

Hey Rottboy. I have one of the two piece units right now too, but I long for my good old single piece unit. I may have found a winner today. Will let you know when it arrives.

When I park my car at the Jersey Shore there is seldom any shade and it has been heating up. I didn't want to buy one of those $40 custom jobs, and couldn't find a suitable accordion style one, so I finally found a Basix auto-shade of the spring type at Walmart. It's in two pieces and takes just seconds to put in place. The cost was $11.

This is what the package looks like. Each of the two panels are 31 x 38 inches, which are the super jumbo size. I put them in the window tall-side up and the visors hold them in place very well. The back of the package says they are designed for the Accord ES 2-door '99 plus, and the Odyssey. They're great for the 2015 Fit too!!!!!

I expect to enjoy my Fit even more on the sunniest, hottest days now.

I've also got the same sunscreen SJ size obtained from Wallyworld.

Fits well and folds up fast and the price was right.

Does the shade actually fold well, because the reviews complained that the lack of being able to fold and store it was a big negative.

So easy to fold and store even a kid can do it. Here's a link to a video:

I fold and don't even use the loop strap and stick it in the back passenger pocket. Takes 2 seconds to deflate and stow. Takes 2 seconds to inflate and a couple more seconds to position in front window with visors holding it in place.

I have this one too and it did take a week or so to get used to how it folds. I dunno maybe I'm just a dummy.

So tell me, does this sunshade really make a noticeable difference in interior temp? It sounds like it's got the "easy to use and store" part going for it.

re temp... without empirical analysis, not sure, but I like saving the dashboard from potential cracking long term.

Do you even need one up there in the frozen tundra? It works well for me here even when it's in the upper 90's

No, it's probably not a necessity, but the Fit's windshield is huge and summer does last nearly 2 mos up here (well maybe 1-1/2 mos) and the temp does see 90 degrees once in awhile (twice already this year, a virtual heat wave).

Thanks to Silver Surfer for the tip! I bought this at Walmart for $11 and works like a charm. I did not want a roll up one since it's too big to store and these foldable ones fit great in the back pocket of the seats. Had trouble find one that would fit due to the size and shape of the window until I saw this thread. Fits perfectly
