Hockey Puck with Floor Jack

Thanks to your suggestions, I got my floor jack adaptor made. These hockey pucks will provide a firm, non-damaging grip on the pinch weld when lifting the Fit. I'm going to order two more pucks and make another one of these, possibly neater.

The puck is screwed onto the board to make it easy to run it over the table saw a few times to cut that groove.

Why did you climb onto your roof to take those pictures? Aside from that....awesome idea!

It was much warmer up there - almost above freezing.

Actually, that's a little shed on wheels that I put over the generator when we lose electricity. It keeps the noise down a bit, and it protects the gen from rain and snow.

And you from Carbon monoxide. I was visiting SAM'S tonight, looking at a generator, and wondering where I could locate it, in order to avoid the risk of the carbon monoxide from seeping into the house....Your shed on wheels idea sounds like the perfect solution. Any chance of a picture ? I realize it is a little off-topic. You could call it your "photo platform for hand making Honda fit accessories".

Up on the ROOF

Nice job!! I knew you would be all over this!!

I, too, climb up on the roof to do many of my car projects. It adds an element of danger. As a result I work much faster.

QUESTION: Where are you guys getting jack stands short enough for the FIT?
My jack stands are way too tall ... they fit my 4x4 truck fine, even if it is kind of a bitch to get on and off the roof.

I'll try to remember to post some pics tomorrow. I had to rig a so-so exhaust for the shed.
