Hello group. I have had my 2015 EX for about a week. I opened the front seat passenger door, and between the seat and the door, there is a 1" by 6" rectangle where that section of the carpet appears to be removable. Anyone know what it's for?

 

my guess is to access electronics under the carpet. i wanted to pick at it, but it was too perfect, so i let it be...

 

It's one of the locations of your VIN #. Open it & you'll be surprised!
I haven't opened it yet, but it's in the owners manual.

I know that in some other markets they have engine #, transmission # & chassis #. That must be the location for chassis #.
