I have a 100ib propane tank that holds roughly 23 gallons of propane. To run a 7k machine in 70 degree weather is no problem at all. During the winter I would need a 2nd tank in parallel or a bigger "pig belly" 250 pound tank. Engine needs LP vapor, and tanks require heat for the liquid to boil off to a gas under pressure. This pressure is reduced at lower temps. More surface area to have the tanks absorb heat. If they were buried in the ground then no problem at all for vaporization. Will likely be an investment next year. Plus a possible propane fireplace for the basement.

During the hurricanes and winter storma, gas stations were swamped with peopl or out of gas all together, but the propane guys were buzzing along just as much, but you didnt have as long a lines to wait.

I have a little propane stove in this room, and I use it only when the weather gets down into the 20's. It has a glass front and looks like a wood stove. It works off a thermostat, though, not someone feeding it wood.
