Door pillar polish

Hey guys, I really didn't like the way the door pillars looked, halfway between matte and glossy plastic, so I went ahead and polished them up a bit by hand using Megs Compound and polish. Took ten minutes and I'm much happier with the way they look now. Just thought I'd share.

Yes, nice work. Please keep track of how long that shine lasts and update the thread when you do it again.

Will do. I'm going to use polish/sealant on it, so I'm expecting good things.

Nice. Turtle Wax Ice also works well on black trim. Can use it on vinyl stripes and other graphics, also.

Good product choice.
The Meguiar's duo of Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish are two essentials for anyone who cares for their vehicle's appearance. The unique abrasive formula of UC is aggressive enough to remove swirls, scratches and hazing on just about any hard surface without power tools. I'm a bit of a detailing fanatic and UC is the product I recommend the most for those looking to do corrections such as the fingernail scratches under the door handles, headlights etc.

Hey if you want to come over and do my pillars, go for it! I'll leave the car outside for you.

Heck, do my taxes while you're at it too.

This is a great idea! I worked most of the day today on the roof of my PBP .Polished using the same product then ReJex for a sealent. It really makes the Passion Berry pop. Gives almost a black look.My right arm is sore but I have the roof protected.

FYI those black pillars scratch quite easily, and are stickers, so be careful using any chemicals that would affect adhesive.

Pain in the ass to replace too, the dealer had to do it twice (and it requires taking your door apart apparently). The first time they replaced the scratched piece, they scratched it again, the second time it wasn't scratched but slightly crooked... I just don't look at that side of the car anymore. Actually i just don't closely examine the car at all anymore, or I would tear my hair out over the shoddy build quality.

If you remove the sticker is it just the door's color underneath? I'm thinking about going without them and would like to know
