Funny....I just noticed this on the drivers side last night and thought I'd see something posted here and behold this confirms a defect that Honda needs to address.

So as an owner it's not something I can do myself? Not sure about this trim part . Can someone please post a pic? Thaks

Three of the pics show the gap and unevenness and one shows the fix done in April 2015 (unfortunately a gap and an unevenness are starting to develop again).
There are pics from others in the Quality Issues thread, and at least two other threads also mention this cosmetic defect. I don't remember their names but I've posted in all of them if you want to search through my postings.

Ok, so here's my update: I seem to have 'fixed' the gap problem - not sure how long it'll last, but here's what I did.

- Grabbed the windshield frame arm that extends up to the roof (not sure what it's called, but it's the part that's biege in color), and using my thumb I pressed in and up, and then pressed the plastic dash that's misaligned(raised up) in, and it stayed flush. I guess a piece of the plastic tucked into the bottom of the beige part enough.

I don't know if that makes sense, but let me know.

Question Left side dash to a pillar gap

I have the same problem. The dash on the left side will expand and contract with the temperature of the dash. This will misalign the dash to a pillar to L/S vent. I seen in some pics of repair that the vent is still not set to the a pillar. I had one try so far to fix with no success.
Has anyone had any success?
Has anyone call Honda about the problem?
Hope to find help thanks

#1 OVERTIME WILL THE DASH CRACK WITH ALL THE FLEXING?
#2 IF THE A PILLAR IS MISSET WILL THE SIDE CURTIN AIR BAG BREAK THE GARNISH IN A CRASH?
3#IF THE SIDE VENT IS NOT SET WILL IT JUST DUMP AIR FOR THE DEFROST UNDER THE DASH?
I love my fit I get about 38 mpg . I just want it to last 180,000 miles like all my other car.that did not have a big dash gap and A pillar and vent misset.

I had this problem and seems easy to correct. I added a 1/8" shim under the screw and it fixed the height alignment issue. I didn't take a before picture, but it looked like every one else's.

I looked at your pixs better.it looks like the vent is still not set to the pillar. It looks a lot better now without a dash gap. But I would love to find a way to get the vent set. I have worked on many Hondas . But have never seen a vent so hard to set. The dealer tried to set it and they failed. If I find a way to get the vent set I will let you know.

I'm interested in what you did, but I have no idea what I'm looking at in the first picture.

geez, how picky are you guys? i think notveryfit's shim work looks great.

the rest of the car is misaligned anyway, why get so fixated on that one part of the panel?

Why? Because I am looking right at it every time I drive the car! Sorry, but I have an engineer's eye for fit, symmetry and alignment, and I don't tolerate sloppy work.

Maybe it wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't like the car so much. I really enjoy driving the car. In so many ways it's as nearly a perfect car for me as I could wish for. Maybe that's why the flaws aggravate me more.

Picture is of under the side vent piece. The picture is taken from the outside of the car with the camera against the quarter window.

Thanks for the pictures. Used a couple washers I had hanging around and got rid of the gap on the passenger side of my dash.

Are you talking about this?

Took it to dealer they told me all Fit are the same as mine.
They tried to even it w/ no success.

That's nasty, and they DO NOT all look like that. Mine is perfectly aligned, and it's on an early build car (April, 2014... mine is so nice I suspect the Japanese trainers were there when mine was built).

That's EXACTLY what we're talking about, and, no, they're NOT "all like that".

Some things a purely cosmetic, and it pays to just accept that its just the way they are.
