6MT - can shift gears and the cruise control remains engaged

Just got home from my first highway road trip, only 1.5 hrs each way, but I noticed that tapping the clutch pedal didn't cancel the cruise control, and to my astonishment, I could push in the clutch and it would hold whatever cruising revs it had at that moment, while the car coasted. I could downshift from 6th to 5th or 4th, let the clutch back out, the cruise control would just adjust the revs to maintain the original speed setting. Upshifts worked too. I didn't allow the car to slow down much, didn't feel like being a test pilot and exploring the edges of the envelope. Not sure if this is a 'feature' or a bug.
Anyone else notice this behaviour yet?

I'd need to try it again to confirm because I don't typically shift when I'm cruising, but I recall mine holding he revs for a few seconds. Only for a few seconds and then it cuts off.

It goes off immediately if i tap the brakes.

According to the online 2015 owner's manual, you can keep the cruise control speed set on a manual transmission car if you complete the shift within five seconds. That's a kind of nifty feature, and a new one. Your car is working as designed.

All the manual transmission cars I've driven (with cruise controls), including my 2012 Fit, disengage the cruise the moment the clutch pedal is pressed. Obviously, I haven't yet driven a manual 2015 Fit.

When I push in the clutch with the cruise control on, the car holds the revs for about 3-5 seconds. If you let the clutch out during that time, it will re-engage the cruise control at the previous set speed.

It is a bit annoying at first, when you push the clutch in to initiate braking, but when you let the clutch back in you accelerate again. I just got into the habit if hitting the cancel button the steering wheel at the same time. The brakes do cancel the cruise control, but just pushing in the clutch does not.

Does your 6MT not do the same thing?

Thanks for all your replies. As I verified today, indeed it does cancel if you hold the pedal long enough, and it's nice and easy to drop down a gear on hills and then upshift again at the top. Feature, not bug !

It does work. Ironically (in light of this posting), I stumbled across this feature by accident this past weekend. On a 600 mile road trip, I downshifted to go up a pass and the car remained steady at speed. It freaked me out at first and I thought the car was possessed by an evil demon.

The only other car I've had with a manual combined with cruise was my old Focus, and it was necessary to hit "resume" each time the clutch was pressed.

This is a really neat feature!
