Honda Fit at the Hobbit House
Honda Fit at the Hobbit House

My wife and I have owned our Silver EX since early December and have put almost 4K miles on it during the last three months. We like to travel quite a bit and particularly enjoy beach towns. I took this picture of our Fit at a local site that I like to call the Hobbit House.
This is our third Honda. Back in 1978 I bought a new Civic (long gone), and currently we also have a 2007 Accord. Our sons also have Hondas.
Happy travels to all from South Jersey,
Bill
PearlFit, thanks for your comment. I was going for that look that they use on calendars. Now I'm using this shot for my computer's wallpaper and it makes me feel good each time I turn on the computer.
My wife and I have really taken a liking to our Fit.
Last night we went out to dinner with another couple and I suggested to my wife that we might want to take our bigger car. She insisted though that the Fit had plenty enough room. She was right and there were no complaints from the other couple even though it was an hour ride each way. Along the way the other couple was impressed with the mpg that we get, the camera views, and the acceleration when needed, even with four adults in the car.
I let one of my adult sons drive the Fit this past week and he was impressed with the headroom and the way it handles. He drives an Odyssey and Mazda 3. I'm 6'2" tall and well over 200 lbs. and every seat in the Fit feels OK to me.
Best wishes,
Bill

GoBucky, I don't feel ashamed to let adults ride in the back of the Fit after hearing the recent comments from my friends. I'm probably in the 99th percentile for size and it even works for me.
I've had the opportunity to compare the Fit to other vehicles too.
Last October my wife and I were in southwest Florida for a week along with another couple and we rented a Mazda2, which I'm not even sure they import anymore. I was in the front and had the seat all the way back to accommodate my long legs while my wife was in the back. She complained bitterly that there was no legroom, and she's just average size. So I moved my seat forward, putting my knees right on the dash. Later I tried sitting in the back and right there and then I decided I could never own a Mazda2. Not to belabor the goofy door locks too.
Then there was two years ago when my wife and I were in southeast Florida on our own and we rented a Kia Soul. I liked the Soul very much and though it was a great beach and shopping car with plenty enough room all the way round. My only complaint was that it only got mediocre mileage, hardly better than my four-cylinder Accord. I see that the U.S. News & World Report mpg for the 1015 Soul are 24/30, compared to their figures of 33/41 for the Fit.
I'm sure that if you search the Internet you can find comparisons for the legroom too.
Best regards,
Bill
