I'm baaaack!

Greetings Fellow Fit Freaks!

After a short hiatus, I've returned to the Fit Family. I am now the proud "Papa" of a '15 LX, 6-speed, in Orchid White, and I love it!

I've also continued the tradition started by my wife of naming my car. And naturally, since my home state is Hawai'i, I chose the name 'Haunani', which is Hawaiian for 'Beautiful Mist' or 'Beautiful Dew'.

My previous two cars, a '12 Civic LX and '11 Fit Base, were all automatics, but I have driven sticks before, so it was no problem getting back into the groove, so to speak. I've just had to re-learn all the nuances, i.e. when to downshift, power curve for a six vs a five, etc.

Gas mileage is so much better than previous automatics as well. Best I could get on my previous Fit and Civic, when calculated at the pump, was 36. On my second refuel I got a 39. And the MPG's will only get better as the engine breaks-in. I messed up when I received my Fit from from the dealer, though. I forgot to reset the Trip meter, thus getting an erroneous reading of 53.

I don't think I'll ever be leaving the Fit Family ever again. I am totally happy with my new ride, and have no regrets. Well, maybe one small regret: I'm still thinking I should've gotten the Mystic Yellow.

Happy Driving, everyone!

Congrats on the new FIT!

I also replaced an older model FIT (2010) for a White Orchid Pearl 2015 EX 6speed. I love it.

Congrats on the Fit. Better than the older ones. But...Naming a car? Reminds me of that girl on the commercial who named her car Brad. Boat and planes get names...cars??? But, it's yours so do as you please!

It's something that my wife started, and I must admit, it kinda 'connects' me to the car on a personal level.

My parents never named their cars. They simply referred to them as "the Saturn", or "the Fairmont", etc. Cars to them were merely a tool; a means of transportation. My wife changed that way of thinking for me.

A big mahalo to everyone who welcomed me back to the Fit Fam! The wayward son returns home, right? *chuckle*

Happy Driving, everyone!

And on a sidenote: White Orchid Pearl is really beginning to grow on me. Fully detailed it inside and out two days ago and it still looks freshly washed and waxed. This color really seems to hide dirt better than my '12 Civic in Crimson Pearl. And it shimmers just like a pearl when the sun hits it just right. As an added bonus the interior is so much cooler!

I used to regret not getting Mystic Yellow Pearl. Not anymore!

Happy Driving, everyone!
