Hill Start Assist , is it standard on the manual transmission ?

Hello , and please forgive me if this is an obvious answer .
Seriously contemplating a new Fit .
So , is the Hill Start Assist feature standard , or an option on the 6 speed manual transmission ?
I am really torn between the auto tranny and the manual.
I live in a Very Hilly area so the Hill Start Assist feature will probally be the deciding factor .
Thanks !

It doesn't kick in on very slight inclines, but they usually aren't a problem

The hill assist surprised me on my test drive pulling into the dealers lot on a small incline. Have it on my jeep and recognized it instantly.

The hill assist surprised me as well when I bought my 6MT LX. I can see it would be very handy in "hilly" areas. As mentioned previously it IS standard on the 6MT ... which is a blast to drive!! Good luck!!

I discovered it by accident when I started on a hill. Didn't know until then the car even had it. It works pretty nicely. Less time balancing gas, clutch and handbrake, and more time

I do like hill start. It's worth noting it engages the brakes for 1-2 seconds which also prevents going forward. If you get on the clutch too fast, you will be fighting the hill start. I stalled the car a couple times doing this before I learned the timing. Once you trust hill start and slow down, which can be a challenge on a steep hill, you work with hill start and not against it. Not sure if anyone else has run into this.
