CR-Z to New Fit?
Hello Everyone,
I have been a owner of a 2011 Fit, and traded in for a 370Z. However, then traded the 370Z for a 2013 CRZ back in 2012/2013.
I rather miss the Fit's functionality (bench seats, room).
I currently, still have the 2013 CRZ (AT) and my 2011 Fit was a MT.
I have been mainly a MT driver and missing the MT. I was wondering, how comparable is the Fit's MPG? It almost sounds the same with the CR-Z (something of a downer for being a hybrid). I get an average of 36mpg with the Z and have been considering a FIT again for the room. The FIT offers more room and overall practicality while still having comparable MPG (35-40mpg).
My question is, how is the following on the new 2015 Fits?
1. Interior quality?
2. MT vs AT difference (aside MT always IMHO has a "more" fun factor).
- Power band: HP, TQ
3. I presume all models have reverse camera.
4. Question to the owners... What do you dislike or find as cons?
5. Those that had a 2011 (2Gen), how would you compare to that?
- I considered getting a 2011 used again, but for the minor price difference... I would want to consider the 2015s.
Does it have HID on the EX?
Thanks!

1. the interior is much nicer on the '15. Fabrics and plastics feel better, and the upholstery on the seats is no longer made of the material they make lint brushes out of (much easier to vacuum clean). I think overall the new interior looks and feels much classier with a couple of exceptions. First, I miss the leather wrapped steering wheel of the Fit Sport. If you want that, you have to get the EX-L and live with the CVT. Also, I didn't think Honda could find a chintzier carpet material than they used in the GE, but they proved me wrong. Third, the EX has less headroom than my old GE had. This is because of the moonroof, and the need for space for the motors and room to retract it.
2. I've not had an automatic since '78, but I did test drive the CVT version, and found it pleasant to drive. The paddle shifters (EX only) do restore some of the "fun" factor, and if I lived in an area where I drove in traffic a lot, I might have considered it. The manual gets a lot of negative reviews for not being geared taller, and to be sure, 5th and 6th gear are VERY close together. It's not the deal breaker to me that some would have you believe. I'm currently getting about 40 MPG with the '15. Average for 85,000 miles on the older Fit MT was 36.28 MPG.
3. Yes, they all come with a reverse camera.
4. There are a few small issues (and lots of threads here whining and griping about them), but overall, I really love this car. I just can't stop driving it.
5. Overall, a much nicer car than my '09, and I loved that car.
No HID lamps yet, but the reflectors seem very well designed to make the most of the H4 lamps. I have no issues driving at night.
In fact, IMHO - I would prefer the 2nd Gen's Fit look most out of 1st and 3rd gen combos.
However, my CR-Z is an Auto EX w/ Navi.
The Fit I had before was a 2011, Sport MT.
I do like the idea of the new Fit, with a moonroof option, as opposed to getting a aftermarket one for my CR-Z.
I believe if my CR-Z was a standard. I may have more fun factors... However, I am look forward to Honda's all electric car (C6600). It reminds me of a CRZ and the new fit, while reminding me of the S2k I had "Convertible" factor.
I'll have to go test drive the Fit soon in both MT and AT, to see if it would really sway me to keep my CR-Z or go back to a FIT... LOL!
Ha! The CR-Z has so many compromises that the Fit avoids. I've driven it and it was not for me.
Plus I love the styling of the latest and greatest Fit. Get the Passion Berry Pearl and don't look back. This is a great car. All the things you get for the money? Pfffft. Best value for dollar.
