Headlight already out in my '15

So I get in my car tonight and noticed my left headlight is already out in my car. This seems pretty soon for a brand new car I bought less than a year ago to have a headlight go out. Should I take it to the dealer? I assume my headlight won't be covered by warranty? I am just worried there might be something electrically wrong since it's gone out so soon. I am admittedly frustrated it's gone out so soon as well. Should I just suck it up and fix it myself? Any advice guys?

I would call the Dealer .
You have a pretty resonable chance of them repairing
And replacing no charge to you .

Electrical parts either fail in the first few hours of operation or they last a good long time. That bulb was obviously defective and the dealer should replace it.

It depends on how much you use the headlights (and Daytime Running Lights). A lot of use means that it will fail sooner, no matter how old your car is. Less use means it should last longer, again, regardless of how old your car is. With the amount of time and hassle you'll have to spend going to the dealership and banking on them covering it (I'm pretty sure headlight bulbs are not covered u der warranty) you could just go to your local auto parts store and buy a new bulb and replace it yourself. It's a car. Light bulbs burn out.

It's a 5 minute job to replace a headlamp bulb in a Fit. I always carry a spare with me.

I think I would want the dealer to know and have it on record in case it became a continuing problem. My old car ate turn signals...water was getting in the connector and shorting them out.

My time spent going to the dealership is worth more than a headlight. Just replace it yourself.

If the same one goes out again, then take it in. Chances of two defectives is unlikely, but one is possible.

Light bulbs are a consumable. They are not meant to last forever.

Keep an eye out when driving and you'll see headlights, brake lights out on new cars all the time.

Nothing unusual.

I took it into my dealer. They replaced it at no charge and told me they checked to ensure it was just the bulb. Thanks for the input guys.

Now that's good customer service. How much does that bulb cost anyway?

The OE bulbs aren't all that great. I changed mine right away. I put in some Xenon ZXE bulbs, put the OE bulbs in the plastic container that the ZXE bulbs came in and placed them in the styrofoam space under the rear cover by the jack. I keep them in case one blows out at night. They are super easy to change.

ZXE's are noticeably brighter. I'm not sure how long they'll last but I'm going to find out.

I also pulled fuse #25 to disable the DRLs so maybe that will help extend the service life?

They make the ZXE's in an H11 for the fog lights too and they're next.

It happens. The tailights in my Camaro went out after 2 weeks. Dealer refused warranty claim...said it was normal wear and tear. bullshit, but it was about 6 bucks at O'Reilly's, so did it myself. Dealer sure lost a customer.
