Not if they decide that the mechanical or electrical failure was in any way connected with the accident. Then you leave feeling fleeced after paying for the repair!

What if I take the car in right after the accident and everything gets checked out and ok'd by Honda. A month later something fails, and I go and an get it fixed as its already been determined its not related.

We can go back an fourth all day, but I'd rather not derail this thread.

ETA: Again the car will be payed off well before the full term so I dont suffer any real finical loss, but benefit from an extended warranty.

That's an interesting "what if," but the chances of an owner doing this (and of a dealer declaring a damaged car to be defect-free without charge!) are nil.

I'm about to pick up my 2015 FIT from the dealer and like the others, the dealer has quoted me a "May" special at $1350.00 for a 8 year/100k Hondacare warranty. They say that if I want this special price, I need to provide them the $$ at point of sale when I pick up the car or else it reverts to it's $1900 original price. After reading all the advice on this list, I'm deciding to forgo the warranty and put that $$ to better use in an investment for repairs down the road. I wanted to thank you all for your advice. As a new car buyer, this site is certainly a wealth of information. FitFreak has made me "Fit for Life." Thanks all!

2015 with 58,000, they replaced the push button for the starter under the TSB; in and out after 1 hour. I was very pleased with the experience because I didn't have to argue with them and they actually had the part in stock so I don't have to think about it anymore.
