Honda Fit 2015 EX 6MT

Just bought this car last Friday, the 3rd gear was scratching and the sales manager told me it just needed a minor adjustment. Car is brand new with 44 miles, I followed up today and they are fully replacing the transmission. I was dumbfounded, no matter what they do, even if it is a brand new transmission, this car isn't brand new anymore. I consider this refurbished, and I am wanting a new car same exact specs via dealer trade or a deal unwind.

I have the shittiest luck, has anyone ran into something similar?

No. I agree that you should get a new car but in reality, I guess, they are honoring their 3 year/36 month warranty against defects. But what do I know?

Another poster here had the same thing happen shortly after he bought the car. The transmission was replaced and I recall he was fine thereafter. Look for the poster Rodney.

To my mind it's just a part to be replaced. Years ago my parents had a car in which they had to swap out the engine!

It's unfortunate, but it happens. My '84 Dodge Shelby Charger had its engine replaced under warranty for a casting hole in the block that kept letting coolant escape. To Chrysler's credit, they replaced the engine rather than waste effort trying to seal the porous casting. Car was fine after that, I drove it for 8 years.

How is it refurbished??? You have a brand new transmission in a new car. That Honda dealer took care of your problem quickly and correctly. And If you ever have any problem with it I am sure they will also take care of it. Enjoy your new car.

What does "scratching" mean?

I don't think you understand what the word new means.
