What basic maintenance should I do for my 2015 Fit (LX CVT)?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I am new to having a new car. I'm approaching 10k miles, and the only thing I have done is have an oil change. Is there a list of recommended things you should do at certain miles to maintain the car?

There's a comprehensive list of service items in the manual beginning on page 353. For example you may have needed a tire rotation at your first service.

Thanks. The manual mostly just says either leave it up to the maintenance minder or check fluids every time you refuel. I guess there is probably nothing else I need to do on a schedule?

Check the fluids and tire pressure. Read the manual and "watch the wrench."

There really isn't much to do on a modern car. I'm old enough to remember on my first few cars you'd have to take the car in at least once a year for a "tune up" which involved changing the points and the condenser, probably the plugs, the air filter and the like. None of these items had any real durability. Even the oil I think had to be changed every 2,000 miles or so. And belts and hoses and tires were not noted for long lives. Cars broken down by the side of the road were a fairly common sight and in the winter time cold cars simply not starting even commoner.

Enjoy today's technology and be thankful for it.

I also remember that every 2,000 miles or so you took the car into the "service station" (where you used to buy gas before convenience stores were invented), and had the dozen or so grease fittings pumped up with fresh grease. All those service points (ball joints, tie rod ends, universal joints, shift linkage) are sealed on modern cars.

Today, check/change to oil and filter, check tire pressures and rotate when necessary. Watch levels of fluids (brake, coolant, oil, windshield washer). Flush the brake lines every 3 years, and change transmission oil and coolant when the book says. Change air cleaner and cabin air filter when needed. Not much else to do, really.
