Well, I was being a bit hopeful.

Current listing for a 75 mile radius around me shows 36 fits, including 6 newly listed. Of the new listings "3" are J cars an 3 are "3" cars.

I'm not in the mood to shop when dealers are thinking that these econoboxes are rare jewels and are charging a premium for them.

Current numbers are up to 65 in a 75 mile radius of my location. Still not huge, as there are 528 Kia Souls listed in the same radius. Almost all the Fits are "J" cars now. The exception seems to be EX-Ls with Nav which are still Mexican.

The number of new 2016 Fits in our area have increased but as for a 6 speed manual transmission, well... it's dismal, at best. I had to expand my search radius to over 200 miles to find mine, which is currently on a flat bed truck being delivered to my bank. By this time tomorrow, I will be the owner of a brand new 2015 Honda Fit EX in white with manual transmission

Just checked my two closest dealers - four Fits total, one manual. At least one is a Japan build, didn't see vins for the others.

Just checked Bob Linsday in Peoria, IL, and they still have two '15 EX 6MTs on the lot. They have five '16 CVTs (no manuals), three of which are J prefix VINs (an EX and two LXs).

Took delivery on a white LX automatic J-vin, after a long wait when I thought the next car that met my specs was going to be a silver 3-vin. The silver one still hasn't shown up. Choice of LX over EX was pretty easy: high price for moonroof I wouldn't use, radio knobs, and less than a year ago on another car (Mazda5) I had had two expensive alloy wheels taken out of round by a pot hole on the GW bridge in pouring rain. Auto over stick might have been harder decision but from what I read here the auto is a better highway car. NJ dealer still has a white LX stickshift I think.

Hi all new here......we bought our 2015 at end of July in 2014 ...started looking in March of 2014 but found out there was a delay from the plant and the first ones coming were going to be red or silver colors.

I wanted a specific color/model so I spent 2 or 3 months checking other dealers in other states and the only time I found one it was already on hold for someone else. So we gave up and just ordered one from the factory in June of 14....30 days later we got our car! We love it! Have taken several long trips in it and it's done a great job. Would buy another one in a heartbeat.

ETA: Guy my husband works with hit a deer and totaled their Fit a couple months ago, it took them awhile to find a Fit as a replacement, still not much stock out there.

Nice photo! White looks sharp! I would have bought white too, but could not convince my wife. In addition to white cars, I like vanilla ice cream and 7-up.

Nice! That's exactly what I went with. I was unsure about the white, but it's turned out to be a great choice. Cooler when parked in the summer, and easy to keep clean.

Although it took a longer than I'd like to locate my Fit but after driving it around in open highway conditions and in rush hour traffic over the weekend, it was definitely worth the wait! I traded in a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe with the sport package. Do I miss the G35? Yes, especially when I have to downshift to 4th just to pass someone on the freeway but then when I look at my average MPG and it reads 38.6 MPG, that memory of the G35 is quickly forgotten...

Numbers are still flat at 65 in a 75 mile radius of my location in SoCal.

10 of those are manuals, all leftover '15s. Oddly, seven of those are Mystic Yellow Pearl! Remember when those were unobtainium? I guess that they finally cleared out the corner of the parking lot in Celaya where they were stashed!

All of the '16s are Japanese except for the EX-Ls which are Mexican.
