Lighting to HDMI

Hi guys,

Have any of you found a cheaper solution for the iphone 5 then the 90 dollar cable from honda? If I buy from apple, its 50 for cable and then i still need hdmi. Are there any knock offs that work ok? Would converting to the 30pin connector limit me to 720p? Some of the 30 pin to hdmi are cheaper.

So, what do you use? the OEM honda? the OEM apple, or some much cheaper option?

I bought the Apple adaptor at Best Buy for $50. A generic HDMI to HDMI there was $10. The Lightning to USB I already had. The adaptor is proprietary, but you don't have to get it or the kit from Honda.

I just bought the cabling (apple/ B&H hdmi/ apple usb) and the Hondalink experience is far from ready. Most of the time the apps would freeze or not load. And you are limited to 2 apps the Navi apps ($60) and iHeartRadio which also crashes.

IMO, its just not worth the effort or money. Unbelievable- poor design and execution.

Im waiting on a 3rd party hack

Thanks for this post. I almost went to Walmart to buy the $50 adapter. My salesman said I could use Google maps with the 2015 Fit, but if you're saying I need to purchase a $60 app to get nav! No thanks. I'll keep using my phone.

I wish someone who already bought the app would post the ipa file online somewhere. I've been looking for months.
