Unhappy Weird noises coming from front driver-side wheel

Hi everyone,
A few days ago, I heard what I thought was the sound a flat tire would make and felt a thumping sensation from the left foot rest (this is my first car ever, been driving for just over a year now so I'm a noob) coming from my front driver-side so I put in some air, checked PSI a few hours later, and realized I was correct.
I took it down to Costco and bought two new tires for the rear and rotated the existing rear tires to the front.
Feeling all happy when they called me thinking my problems were over, I picked up my car and zipped out of the parking lot.
But lo and behold, as I was pulling out onto the street, that weird flat tire noise came back again.
Honestly, I was pissed. Like what the actual funk, this can't be happening.
I ran out of my car, checked the PSI for the FDS tire, it read normal.
I checked the other 3 -- all normal.
Please help me. My dealer hasn't been returning my calls for several days now, even after leaving messages. I'm lost and I'm scared.

Seems like you pissed away money on tires. If you have a new Fit take it to the dealer. They can't fix it over the phone.

Really? :x I assumed that tires were a wear and tear item. I didn't buy any additional coverage.

They are but I was assuming as this is in 3rd Gen thread that your car was fairly new. A noise like that I would not assume tires right away but some suspension problem. How many miles do you have on it?

I bought the car a little over a year ago, and it has 15xxx miles.

Well then the tires should not have been worn out. Maybe the tire guy ripped you off or thought maybe a defect int he tire. In any case should have gone to the dealer as there is a limited wty on tires I believe.

With only 15,000 miles it is a wty repair for whatever it is. Go to your dealer before spending any more.

Just wanted to comment because I've been meaning to make a thread about this: I had what seems like a similar thunking sound coming from the front passenger wheel. Sounded kind of like a flat; just a soft type of knocking/thud sound, especially if I hit a bump or a crack or something. It didn't improve or get worse really. Just consistent knocking.

Took it to the dealer and it was diagnosed as a dead strut. They replaced my "strut, strut cap and strut bearing" on that side and the problem is gone. The repair was done under warranty. I had 26,000 miles on it at the time.

Take it to the dealer, describe it as a "dead strut sound" and see what the tell you. I know it's a huge PITA to go to them, but they might just fix your issue. Good luck!

Hey, so I took it into the dealer and it was diagnosed as the same thing! What are the odds! However, they don't currently have the part in stock and now I have to drive till Wednesday with that thing still broken. I hope it doesn't damage anything. Side note, do you think that the dead strut could have possibly caused my tire to go flat?

Same story here: they had to order the part and I had to go back a few days later. The good news was that it only took a few hours and I had the car back with no problems.

As for the tire, I can't say for sure. I wouldn't think so, but somebody smarter might be able to shed light on what a strut actually supports.

Don't worry about damaging anything. I put 1,000 miles on the thing between the first time I heard it and when I got it fixed.
