I'd be more concerned with cutting yourself up by snipping off the sharp bits, or by actually changing out the mats on a snow day. How about just installing the Husky driver mat and leaving it? That way you have less chance of self-injury and no need for bandages. There are a lot of pointy bits.

Here's a thought: Use a heat gun instead and melt the pointy bits down instead. Just be careful you don't melt through the mat.

Just in time for foul weather, I bought some 3D MAXpider floor mats for my car.

They weren't my first choice, but I'm happy with them. I especially like the fuller coverage for the back seat since my magic seats are usually in the "up" position. The 3D MAXpider have a "velcro-ish" back that grips the Honda floor covering. This helps the mats get into place and stay there.
