Low tire Guage

Sorry if this has already been asked/posted about, but the low tire pressure gauge has been on in my car for over 3 months.

I have had all 4 tires checked at least 5 times now by two mechanics, pep boys, Costco and some tire spots around my house and all my tires are inflated appropriately, they are all on appropriately and there are no holes, cracks or nails that need to be repaired. They have also rotated all tires to see if that would help, as well as check the inflation on the spare tire.

I know I have to find time to take it to the dealership, but I was curious if anyone else has had this problem? I don't have a warranty on the car and don't want to pay an arm to have the dealership fix it if it's something I can do.

Also, please note: 2015 Honda Fit is crap. And if I wasn't upside down and low on a down payment, I would have traded this car in over 6 months ago, or maybe the weekend after my buyer remorse kicked in. I have had my left fog light fall out of the fixture (on it own, without hitting anything), the plastic motor cover fall off on the freeway, my transmission is also failing but I haven't gotten the recall for that and I just can't get rid of this car. To save my life.

Ha.. I wish. No, I bought her in September 2014. Traded in my civic for this car. Thinking it would be all the awesome. And then it ended up being none of the awesome.

You can reset the TPMS once you've got the air up to spec. It's under the dash.

Tire light reset procedure is in the owners manual. (hold the button long enough for the low tire light to blink)
It must be done every time someone touches the tires.
Air, rotate, replace, anything at all done and it needs the system reset.

Once the light has come on, it will stay on until the perceived problem has been corrected and the reset completed.

How do you not have warranty on the car? Over on mileage?

Thank you. I'll double check that and reset it.

Long story short: my loan didn't go through on the car because of my shitty credit. 45 days after signing the original sales contract, they contacted me to tell me to put down another $1k and when I went in to give the car back and get back my civic, they had already sold it. After about 5 hours of arguing, me calling the GM, Honda and the FTC over this shit, they agreed to lower the price of the car and remove the warranty to get me into the loan. At the time I didn't even think about it because I was so pissed at everything that had gone on with the sales process.

45 days after signing the original sales contract,
Yeah some dealers do this. IDK how legit it is, but I hear it a lot.
IMO a sales contract is a legal contract.
Same for a loan contract.
They can't alter the terms after signing.
They should have had their lawyers read it before signing. LOL

Maybe you should have had your lawyer look at it, I bet the answer would be the same as mine.
and remove the warranty to get me into the loan.
IMO Legally they cannot take away the factory warranty coverage of 3 years/36,000 miles bumper to bumper, and 5 years/60k on the powertrain, plus the long term coverage on emissions items and PCM and cat for California..

They may have removed some extended warranty plan, but not the factory coverage. Some extended warranty plans are sold for thousands of dollars, so taking that away could free up a lot of money.

If you want to PM your VIN# to me I can check if your factory warranty coverage is still intact.

According to the VIN report, the standard original new vehicle warranty coverage is in effect, unchanged.
As expected.

The dealer must have removed/voided some extended warranty plan.

I've known people who HAD to get the extended warranty to qualify for financing. It seems people can afford the monthly payments or repair, but not both... so the idea is that with warranty coverage, the person will still make their monthly payments to avoid repossession...

Basically, if you have 500 bucks to spend on a car payment, or a repair, you would pay the repair to keep driving but not pay the bank... Have to admit, strange logic but guess it works...

Much like a bank requiring you keep full coverage insurance on a car as long as you have a loan against it.
