Started wrapping my Fit in stone guard film

Hopefully a few will find this interesting.
Timelapse of hood and starting the bumper
Video of the second most challenging part of the bumper (hardest part was the foglight area)

My last, red fit had a clear bra and it made a huge difference with scratch protection and the fading (it was only a partial hood, that red really faded). Car got totaled, so while I was searching for the new fit I was planning on this. I work in a sign shop so I deal with vinyl for work....but....haven't done a vehicle wrap in years. I also had a hard time getting a bulk roll of film. Turns out those clear bra companies want to make sure you're a certified installation company to sell to you (I get it, it's hard to work with and it keeps their reputation safe). I ended up finding Stone Guard film from one of my signage supply vendors who would sell to me as a private individual.

Man, if they come out with the precut films for this car I'm getting that next. The hood was pretty easy, the bumper.....sucked. I still want to cover the roof, door handles, and gas door before I call it quits. Took about 7 hours....

I bought a roll of 3M Pro. Took me so long just to do the hood and headlights.

Whatever the Pro's charge, they're worth every penny!

3M sells precut partial hood, full headlights, full bumper and partial fenders.

Haven't had too much problem with paint chips, but I'm wishing I could have "wrapped" the windshield. Too many stone chips in the windshield for a car this new. Just last week I got a chip right in my line of sight.
