dashboard glare

Today I had my first day-trip in the LX and experienced way too much glare from the dash; everything else seemed OK or better. Has anyone remedied this problem? Is there something to be put on the dash w/o blocking vents etc, so that my eyes don't go blind on a sunny day?

I've seen dash mats but I'm personally not a fan.

If it's sunny I have polarized sunglasses that help with glare.

I live in Florida and never had this problem with an EX with the sunroof open, so no.

You're welcome. Nowhere has more glare than here.

I have a custom-fit dashboard mat, and it works great. There are a few different brands, and you can pick the color and fabric.

Whatever you do, don't use "Armor-All" or other "shine" products on the dashboard. Yeah, I notice some glare, but, truth to tell, it's not a problem for me.

Can you give me the reference, please? Brand, supplier, etc. Thanks.

There is a low glare from I think mothers in pep boys or something like that. Just ask there. I like it with glare but I always were sunglasses I like to protect my eyes. Also if you have the cash you can put a transparent wind tint such as 3m crystaline of other brand. That for sure will help a lot.

Finally somebody posted something about this. I thought I was the only one. Dashboard glare drives me absolutely nuts. Especially in sunny days, it can cut my visibility right down in half. This can be a source for vehicle collisions. I had dashboard glare on my previous vehicles, but with the Fit, it's the worst I have ever experienced. At night the glare is not a big deal, and even in regular overcast daytime it's not a big deal either. The most severe glare occurs on sunny days when the sun reflects the lights from the dash straight into the windshield. When you go through a shaded area such as on underpass or under a bridge on the highway, you can see the difference as the shade comes and goes.

So I placed a black t-shirt that now covers the driver's side. It makes a world of difference. Don't believe me? Take a black shirt and place it there, and drive around for a few days and see the difference. Even in overcast days it still makes a difference.

so, I took a photo in a sunny day.

There are some here Dash Covers - Huge Selection & FREE SHIPPING!. Also check ebay.

As for me, I wear polarized sunglasses and it doesn't affect me. I recently installed a dash cam, and I can see the glare coming off the edge of the dash where it meets the windshield in the playback of the video. It's an annoyance and I'll have to figure something out.

My previous car, Ford Fiesta, had serious dashboard glare and I bought a custom dashboard rug for it that made a huge difference. It was about $40. When I got the Fit a year and a half ago I was going to do the same for it but didn't notice much glare, and I never wear sunglasses either.

Maybe it's because I'm mostly blind; I don't know.

FYI, I sure like the Fit.
