Just a small bit of trivia - Miles in the Trip B screen

Just a bit of trivia that I became aware of today:
The Trip B screen had never been reset in my Fit, therefore the miles traveled matched those of the odometer. My car is at 10,058 miles right now, and the Trip B screen now shows 58.2 miles - I guess it resets itself to 0 at 10,000 miles.

How many digits in the A and B displays? In our older Honda cars, they 'roll over' at 1000 miles...might be the same for kilometers?

The A and B displays are digital - if my eyes didn't deceive me I counted six slots on the line that reads "Trip A(B)" 10,000 is only five digits so I guess it was a deliberate Honda choice to cap it there.

The A and B are digital in both our CR-V and '07 Fit, also.

How can you guys resist not playing around with these? I use Trip B to keep track of mileage per tank and Trip A for mileage projects or overall road trips. Trip A is also cool to track on the info screen.

I use Trip A for miles per tank, and Trip B for miles since last oil change.

My Trip B matches my odometer at 8802. I thought it was the odo.

Interesting; good to know. I've been using Trip A for my weekly or road trip fuel economy average, and have kept Trip B unchanged since I bought the car new just to see what my average has been since the beginning of ownership.

Since I'm only at 4200 miles in 15 months of ownership, it'll take me a while to get to 10k miles. But it'll be somewhat sad to see it reset at that time

Thanks for sharing!!!

I use trip B for exact mileage since the odometer does not show tenths. Sorry to hear it will reset at 10k.

Imagine your confusion in 1199 miles, when your Trip B Odometer rolled over to "0".

You would have given up martinis !
