i think the biggest annoyance for a longer commute for me would be the small gas tank.

id have to fuel every weekend where as right now, i can go like almost 2weeks on a single tank.

How big is the GE gas tank? I thought it was the same as the GK of 10.6?

Hi guys and gals.

I've been keeping up on reading the thread and I thank everybody for there input. I am waiting for feedback on the first round of interviews. I did up my acceptable salary against the drive. I just did that this morning actually.

The biggest thing that I never considered so far has been the lack of arm rest. Hopefully if I ever get some free time I can look into something aftermarket. I think several people on here have switched them out. So I don't think that should be to hard to find. Thanks so far guys!

Snow tires will lower your MPG, but make for a quieter ride. Also obviously much better in the snow.

Other than that, I don't think there's anything else you can do that will make things any better.
What arm rest did you order? I thought the Fit considered the center console plush top be a make shift arm rest...lol.

I would also be interested to know what you purchased.

You will be putting on a lot of miles. According to Edmunds & Kelly Blue Book, the Fit has one of the lowest operating cost of all current models. Good choice from that angle.

I linked to the OEM arm rest in the first page. That plush top center console they install as standard is obviously not an arm rest. It's just supposed to look like one, I guess.

However, I didn't realize that this is not an option for the American market. In fact, I looked at the options available for the USDM version and it's almost non-existent. No wonder you guys are complaining about the sat nav unit. You don't even have a choice in the matter, whereas the JDM models have about 8 sat navs, and several audio only units to choose from. I can even get a 4WD variant.

On the other hand, there is no sun roof for the JDM models.

It makes participating in this forum a bit difficult, since we really do seem to be talking about two different cars in many respects. You don't even have the hybrid or RS models. The USDM grills and headlamps are last years, as are many other things.

I have 100400 miles on my 2010 Fit Sport AT. When driven its 70miles a day. Def looking into the aftermarket OEM arm rest!

The owners manual says 10.6.

I thought it was similar and was asking because the previous comment made it like the GE had a dramatically further range than the GK.

I don't know if the range is different. I can get 270 miles or so on a full tank in my GE in mixed driving, and I drive pretty grandma-ish.

I've gone as far as 420 miles when I was hypermiling and only filled up 9.4 gallons. When driving normally I can get 350-380 and still only 8 or so gallons.
