2015 Honda Fit LX Debriefing

Traded in the 2015 OWP Honda Fit LX 6MT on a new Forester XT --amazing deal on the Subie that I couldn't resist. This forum has been superb but I thought I would share my experiences as a Fit Freak.

Miles Driven: 13000 (only 2 oil changes full synthetic)

MPG: Amazing! Even in the worst blizzard city conditions I was getting 32 MPG, routinely 42-47 MPG on the highway.

Recalls: At least 2, one for rear grab handle, another for door bracket. Also had the door sill trim replaced 2X because it kept peeling off the door frame.

Fit/Finish: Excellent overall minus the front bumper alignment and the A-pillar + dash alignment.

Best Features: Cargo Room! Slick 6 Speed, great visibility, above average handling for an economy car, good FM radio and crisp sound from most audio input sources, ample room for driver and front passenger, exceptional snow handling with the 15 inch tires, excellent infotainment with real knobs in the LX, and of course the fold-back feature on the passenger seat that allows you to carry really long objects. Price also is huge strong point for this model. Aside from those a great feature was definitely the enthusiastic community that supports the mighty Honda Fit Fleet. I was definitely a proud GK Honda Fit owner.

Worst Features: As to expected with a car with a 2600 lb curb weight, driving on the highway was kind of unnerving when a truck passes you at 100 MPH and the wind gust shakes you a bit. LX seating materials is fairly low-rent but held up well in my 13000 miles with several serious hardware store trips jamming it completely full, front seat and all. Faux aluminum trim around shifter nicks up WAY too easily. Cargo carpeted area is very thin especially for those heavy duty hauling trips.

Reason(s) for trading in: Missed my turbo Subarus, needed more room for a different life phase, needed much more ground clearance, got 1500 over KBB for the Fit.

Final grade for the Honda Fit: 9 / 10

Congratulations folks in Celaya, MX and the Honda Engineering team for making such a wonderful little runabout!

So long Fit Freaks, I have really enjoyed the forum time!

Congrats on your new Subaru. Sounds like an awesome car. There are 3 fits and a Subaru in the family and they are all great cars, but the Subaru really shines in bad weather. Enjoy your new ride!

Fit & Outback owner here. Great combo of transportation modes. Outback obviously carries more cargo but Fit never ceases to amaze.
