One year by the numbers - '15 EX
I bought my '15 Fit EX 6MT in Aegean Blue Metallic on March 26, 2015. I had been commuting in my '04 Mercedes ML500, and 2014 had been a rough year in repairs (over $6k). I decided on something small, fun and economical. The Fit won over the Focus hatch due interior size, and I picked EX over LX at the last minute.
As of the last fill on March 18:
- 11,888.1 miles
- 40 fill-ups
- $788.08 fuel cost
- 354 gallons of 87 octane
- two oil changes
- two front wiper replacements
- one rear wiper replacement
- avg price/gal $2.23
- avg mpg 33.6
I've had no issues other than the door handle recall, and a leaking rear driver-side door that they claim they couldn't reproduce. No out-of-pocket expense other than gas.
As for the fuel economy, I don't drive gingerly. My commute is 13 miles each way with a short highway span, followed by 35-45 mph surface streets. What really hurt economy was having to use the AC all winter, as the car would just be damp inside without the compressor running. I'm hoping once I can convince a dealer to replace the door seal, I won't need to use AC as much.
It's a fun car to scoot around in. Handling is quite good. It's perfect for what I use it for, but another 30-45hp would really be a hoot. Honda, bring us a Fit Si or Type R please.

I have 81k miles on my '15 6mt. I really like the power delivery; I don't feel I need any more. I average between 35 to 40mpg; I recently noticed better fuel economy and more consistent power with 91 octane so I am sticking with that. My fit does not have air so I can't comment on fuel economy on that issue
My shocks are toast now (i.e. boaty feeling), and luckily KYB and Gabriel just released struts for our GK. Nothing for the rear for now. KYB has a spring rebate; I think I will bite into that.
