Liftgate replacement - changed
I recently purchased a 2015 Honda Fit LX which had a badly dented rear liftgate. I bought a used 2015 EX liftgate from the junkyard. I installed the EX liftgate and closed it.
I did not realize the LX has a manual handle to open and close the liftgate. The EX appears to be electronically controlled to un-lock. It is currently closed and locked.
Two questions: 1. can you manually open the EX liftgate? 2. I am wondering if I can purchase a Honda EX key fob and have it programed with the VIN from the EX liftgate to then un-lock it?
My last resort is to remove the mechanical mechanism from the LX lift gate and install it in the EX lift gate.
My understanding is the electronic module to unlock the EX lift gate is in the liftgate itself. I am presuming the standard LX wire connector has a power lead.
Any suggestions?

Just found in the owners manual...you can manually open the liftgate from inside.
I would like to find a solution to my other questions without having to convert the EX lift gate to a manual LX lift gate.

Nothing...when I push the buttons above the license plate underneath the trim panel...no response. It is an EX liftgate that has been put on a LX.
