Don't forget to look into the diminished value of your car. You can collect this through the other persons insurance company.

Just picked up my rental, a 2014 Honda Civic. Damn this thing is boring. Its like they took all the fun out of the Fit and made it into a boring and well mannered sedan.

Most rental cars are very boring, and the CVT/auto does not help. There are exceptions. I really liked the Mazda3, and the Nissan Versa Note was bearable. After 10 or 15 you need to write notes to yourself with your likes and dislikes. With this car rental info and criteria I narrowed down my cars to the Fit.

Sorry about your accident! Take care of yourself with that concussion. I was in a pretty bad accident a few months ago (should be dead) and had a "delayed" concussion and it lasted about 3 months. I couldn't think straight and had headaches that lasted 8+ hours almost every day even through 800mg of Ibuprofen.

Sorry to hear this

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Octopy. Damage to a new Fit is outrageous enough, but the same damage to your "work of art" is a true travesty. I hope you can get things restored satisfactorily, including your potential neck/head injury. Maybe we should all be driving cars & trucks with security monitoring cameras, just to discourage driver distractions such as cell phones, texting, or whatever other nonsense that caused this accident/stupident.

The part I am sad about is the fact that my car is now worth 3k less than before the accident because it now has a record. I am attempting to file a diminished value claim to make the insurance company pay me this amount.
The diminished value claim should be a sure thing. You can negotiate on what they offer you, if they come up with something unreasonable the first time.

I get my car back from the shop tomorrow and because of the accident I am thinking of changing my octopus up a bit. What do you guys think?
(this is a real rough mockup)

Look great Octopy, but there's too much biology in my career history not to be a little suspicious of unclaimed tentacles! Hope your repair results are TOPS!

I like the new graphic a lot. I'd be interested to know about the octopus inspiration for you.

Just one of the animals I like. I have made mascots on all of my cars, and the octopus was actually made for my last car but decided to carry the theme over to my Fit when my Fiesta unexpectedly was a lemon. Attached my old cars

Thanks for sharing that! I like the idea.
Have you done similar stuff on others' cars?

Yeah, I have done quite a few designs for friends' cars. There is something fun and unique about custom decals. Even better because they are easy to remove if you need to sell your car.

All fixed and new decal applied. End the end, the repair took 8 days, cost the other guys insurance $5300, $1800 in diminished value, $312 in doctor bills and $280 in lost wages since I had to miss work due to the concussion. The shop did a great job and its just like new, or perhaps better because of a weird splotchy paint flaw that is not longer there. Moral of the story, don't follow people too close.

Also wanted to thank all of you for being so polite here. When I posted pics of the decal I put on my Fiesta over on the Ford forums, I basically got chased off for destroying my car. Its just nice to be able to post here and get civil replies.

Anyway, pics of the final fixed fit.

Looks great Octopy. I have seen a lot of legal services advertized lately, and wonder if you used a law firm to assess and receive the comprehensive insurance coverage.
