Whistling sound at cruising speed
I just got my 2016 EX last week. I started to notice a high pitch sound not to loud at cruising speed between 40-50 MPH. it goes away at high speed and idle. Anyone else notice that?
I normally hear it during city driving but not highway which is at higher speed.
Thanks

Thanks but my moon roof is not opened. I can hear a faint whining sound at certain speed. I think it could be the CVT transmission.
I did some research I found many people with Honda CRV are complaining about the similar issue but Honda does not have an answer for it.
The squeal or whine is nothing but a minor annoyance so I'm going keep driving for a while longer to see what will happen.
My car has only 1000 miles so maybe it will goes away after a while.

If you google how CVT transmission works you'll see why cat's tend to make some noise, between the hydraulics and the "belt" between the shivs there are several varying contact points that depend on friction for the tranny to do its job..
FWIW my Polaris quad makes ton of noise at low speed.. Similar function to the honda CVT..

I noticed a similar sound on my 2016 LX a couple times, kind of annoying when it happened although very infrequent, seemed to be coming from the driver's front door. My guess is that it's the rubber door surround getting buffeted by certain combinations of wind, angle & vehicle speed.

Have never noticed on our '15 LX with a manual trans, but...due to gearing, engine is revving high at hwy speeds, like 2500@50mph, 3500@70mph...n0t a quiet car, but, am fine with it, heck I'm half deaf already

Someone here mentioned that the windnoise is worse with the oem moonroof visor, hence I passed on it. If it isn't too bad I might consider it.
