Fender Liner Issue - has this been resolved in the USA ?
Hi people, everyone knows that the felt liners dont fit properly on the rear wheel wells. I know that Honda USA have admitted they know of the problem but does ANYONE know if there is an official fix for this ? In Canada, Honda Service are freaking awful and and tell me to talk to the dealer and the dealer tells me to talk to Honda.. They have replaced the liners twice now and they sag within days of being fitted.
For those of you that dont know I am referring to, there are felt liners on the rear wheel wells on some models to deaden sound, they don't fit properly after time and you can put your fingers upwards between the metal of the wheel well and the liner itself, ie somewhere for salt and stones to get trapped and rust.
Does anyone have any information on this ?
Thanks in advance.

It was a problem early, the liners sagged open where they met the wheel wells. Honda used fasteners in later production cars to hold them in place but it's far from the optimal solution. I have the fasteners and it's on my checklist of things to watch for. All was good earlier in the winter after a nasty snowstorm but I haven't checked since it started getting warmer.

Sorry can't get pic right away (away from the car 'til at least tomorrow) but they're easy to find, just move your hand inside the wheel well above the lip and you can feel them. My car is a Jan '15 build and it has them. When I was doing my rounds last year before purchase I specifically checked for this. When I found a sagger I mentioned it to the sales guys (sometimes service guys too) and no one knew what I was talking about.

Anyway, at least it's documented that I brought the issue to their attention.
